Yesterday, I was fighting Brigands with two other players. We all lost Weapons use and Tonic Use. Needless to say, we died.

Lost my weapons on Tormenta this evening...

FUUUUUN!

Luckily I had the doorway out to the beach right behind me... THAT cleared up the lost weapons.

And OMFG! The fence on Kingshead was EMPTY tonight!

*THUD!*

At least until I went to reload.

Really? How do you determine that the patch was useless? Because it didn't fix your problem instantly?

Next time you make a statement like that, please think about it from the developers perspective.

It's a patch to address issues that have been logged and reported, and that they have found fixes for, or slight changes they are making.

Stop thinking that patches are released just for you and you will never receive a totally useless patch again.

Hopefully, people are submitting bug reports on this and not just spending 10 to 20 minutes on the forums,

It's good to see that the bug report page is timing out, shows at least its getting hammered and used.

You do realize the only thing they changed in the "patch" is how much the tonics heal. Do you know how simple it is to do that...?

And then more serious bugs will be forgotten, I'm looking at the "known issues" page, "Difficulty with finding the diamond on Queen's Nest, in the Recover Treasure Quest". Are they serious, they have nothing better to do?

- Pearl Battle made impossible
- Health jumping up by 400 when you level up. (-.- the ones who are maxed don't get anything)
- Weapon jamming, not just the pistol
- Now friends list shows random Not Found people and D-names instead of character names in the latest patch.
- Sometimes you use a tonic, and then can't use any weapons or tonics afterwards.

Its apparent Disney has their hands full, and they are looking at the "Queens Nest".

Ok... so being a programmer by trade I spent all my time last night testing this pig on differant machines and submitting bug reports. (Wish I was on beta)
The two most glaring issues I've found besides the annoying little ones that have been mentioned already are:

1. Memory usage has increased with the recent update.
2. Unlisted/Untested video cards are adversely affected. (I.E. game crashes)

The video card is a biggie!

When I first started playing this game in January I could never sail using my laptop. (ATI Radeon Xpress 200M) I updated the drivers and then everything worked great until the April updates.

OH! I see they have updated the release notes dated today (5/2/2008) so it looks like I'll be doing some more testing tonight.

I understand your pain and drive. I have been Beta Testing for many a year. Everything from Games to Operating Systems have fallen victim to my scrutiny, yet I cannot get on Test here because D thinks it is easier to give an untested, unusable program to the public to find the bugs. So what do they do? They add a bunch of small working features that lower level players can enjoy and use without problem, so they can get their subscriptions. Why pay attention to those who have been supporting the game for so long, when there are so many more that are out there, willing to blow their $ to test. After all, is that not what we are doing? Paying to be Beta Testers, with no vision of a public release?

Aye... I've been paying to test Microsoft operating systems for years. Har Har

So maybe we band together and start our own testing team on the open servers and continuously provide feedback to D (when the bug page works). I know that if I started receiving structured input from a band of hooligans about the 450+ websites I run then I would definately sit up and pay attention.

Anyways... just an off the wall thought.

I'm game. I'll discuss with you via PM about getting all these problems consolidated, then perhaps a weekly submission of our findings would be best. As you are in the IT world, you also know that the squeeky wheel does not always get the oil. If we made it a daily occurance, it would be sent straight to the dumpster, I reccon. That being said, we may need to start asking people some specifics about their hardware and whatnot.

OK, before I get off on a tangent again, I'll leave it at that. Yes, I like the idea and would be more than happy to join efforts. We'll brainstorm via PM or Ventrilo, if you wish.

Radeon ATI Graphics card.

Well when trying to sail or sometimes when TP the game will crash on me. I spent many hours with tech support, and came to the conclusion that, and they told me that they have issues with a lot of ati cards. They had the problem before the update, but only a small number of people were effected, but as soon as the update went thru a lot more people starting having it. I switch the card with a different one (a less powerfull card and a Geforce card) and i have had no problems.

What is this? All I was saying is that the v1 patch didn't fix any of the issues... the Live Support even told me that many would still have the issues and that they were working on a second patch (which was released today and DID fix the issues).

I think you came on WAY too strong there against me for all the posts on those who were having problems... it was just letting others know I had tested the v1 patch - and had no sucess.

And since I am a 'developer' - I know where it already comes from - thanks anyway And yes - I did send reports - 22 of them until the page went down...

Now - with that outa the way - v2 patch does appear to have corrected all the issues I had anyway - no weapons jamming after an hour with the baddies , sailed for a few hours with no issues, and TP was back to normal (no black screens for ships and TP).

Kudos to Disney for this one I even noticed the 'Flag Ship Bug' didn't happen once tonight (and I boarded a lot of ships tonight) so if they got that in too way to go! Hope everyone else had good luck with the v2 patch as well...

Edit: in reading threads - noticed that someone said that tonics were adjusted - and though I tried them just after the patch I did not try them tonight with v2. If they did adjust them again some then thats cool

Kudos to Disney? Are you serious?

How about the health glitch thing, level 30's having more health than a fully maxed 40.

Since you're the "developer", how would Disney go about fixing that? And how soon... This is not even fair for us... this is stupid, and rediculous. I'm very curious how Disney is going to fix that problem, and stop all the level 40's from quitting the game, along with many other people.

So, how could/will they fix the health glitch?

Issues im having, Crashing EVERY SINGLE TIME I MAKE PORT. When using certain potency of tonic(gives 350 hps) weapons would lock up untill I drank another tonic. (any tonic) Unable to access any buildings, caves, graveyards and the like. Upon entering Fort charles recently i would crash, Tested this three times, crashed each time in the hallway.
Someone mentioned a video card issue? Any suggestions on cards that are working well. Im currently using a Radeon 9600 game still runs slow on the least demanding settings.

At least you can play! I can't even get past login, just crashes on start up. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm on a Mac if that helps.

Thank you!

What is it this week on every word I say actually being taken literally?

Ok, all I'm say is:

- Many in our guild were crashing with the initial update.
- We were all having the same issues (Video was #1, several couldn't sail or TP, some of us couldn't us weapons)
- The v1 update didn't seem to resolve anything
- The v2 update did

Now as for the Mac people out there - I do feel bad for yas It is unfortunate they still have no working issues out there - but I don't have any Mac users in the guild so we couldn't test this... can't test what I don't have.

Yes Altair - I know, I've read your other posts on the healing and how it sucks to be a PvP player and that you were leaving.... you should keep that arguement to that thread please - many of us are not PvP players so health (and getting more of it) wasn't something we were looking at - being able to actually PLAY was the issues we were trying out

Yes I have one pirate mastered - yes its a bummer - yes that one spent way too much on Gold for his Staff and Doll - yes his Health will probably not move... THESE are not bugs! These are ADJUSTMENTS which D made (and unfornately didn't tell us about) - do not confuse the two.

Thats the 'developer' difference... in ITIL terms this would be Change vs. Incident Management - here I was talking about something working yesterday and not working today - Incident - not something was working yeterday - still working today but has been modified - Change.

Mythic - still no luck even after the DX9 game_options.txt change? (or did you change it I should ask? ) I had all these isues you listed with my ATI Radeon card before that change - and after the change I could finally use it (and ditched the internal Intel 945 Chip-whatever)

Running into another issue here.

Quest tracking.

In some cases (noticed this with the "sink ships" tasks especially), that unless you're actively tracking a certain task, even if you perform an action that satisfies that task (sink a Corvette/Marauder/etc), you don't get credit for it in your journal.

Also, I'm getting MIGHTILY sick of the game randomly flipping back to the Windows desktop. It keeps happening at the most inopportune moments, and cost me my ship, a full cargo, and a task completion because it minimized the game right in the middle of a boarding party and by the time the game maximized again, I was in jail.
