Mario Kart Ds/CW/Custom
Yes, I've been working on this project... well not In Mario Kart CW Project but on my own project... I'm recreating(with some ports from other games) Mario Kart DS... I need some testers to test this game for me and a little help from about everyone... I'm doing one track at a time... so right now I'll show everyone what I've been doing before I give out download link...
First I'm working on replacing Dokan(Pipe in english)_Road_2 with Rainbow Texture ![]() Rainbow Texture: ![]() Ok now for downloads: First the MKDS Course Modifier: http://florian.nouwt.com/ds/mkds.zip The Emulator, No$GBA(the thing you play DS games on, also you can play GBA games...) http://www.nogba.com.nyud.net/download/NO$GBA.2.6a.zip (Note, you might need to turn sound to lowest quality, for it to run fast. And also the more games you play the better the program works... Make Sure you don't crash(what i mean is freezing, not your computer just the program) it or you'll need to redownload it And this isn't my rom but this is the rom I'm editing, Mario Kart CW Tri http://www.mediafire.com/?ujs0qxt7vacowgi Quick Tutorial on MKDS Course Modifier: CARC/NARC reading and writing to 2 paths deep. NKM Editor (Not Completed) KCL Viewer (Not Completed) NCGR, NSCR Viewer (NCGR is editable) NSBTX Editor NSBTP Viewer (Included into the NSBTX Editor) NSBMD Viewer LZ77 Decompress and Compress NCLR Editor with PAL import and export BMG Editor BMD Viewer NDS Support SDAT, SWAV, SWAR, SSEQ and STRM support WAV -> STRM WAV -> SWAV BNCL and BNBL viewer. Note: Sometimes I haven't added a filetype to the file type list in the open dialog. So, try some files with all files. The NKM Viewer has a zoom function and on the map can you see the bottom screen icons of the objects. Hotkeys NSBMD Viewer: ↑ = rotate up ← = rotate left → = rotate right ↓ = rotate down w = wireframe f = another texture rendring (2x press is the best at the moment) z = translate left x = translate right a = translate up s = translate down scroll-wheel = zoom Questions You might ask: What is an SSEQ/WAV/SWAV? They are music(or midi's) that the DS uses to get sound out. They will be a piano/drums, music. The Actual DS, (or emulator's) take that Sound, seperates to channels(each channel is an instruments) and the sound goes out of speaker... How did you get into the files and get textures out? You need the MKDS rom(or in this case Mario Kart CW Tri). Go to open file 1, open MK(short for Mario Kart) up, then you'll have a pop up with a bunch a folders and stuff, KEEP IT OPEN!!! Go to the files named Courses. You'll see a list of all tracks in the complete game, with two of each track, some of them like Cross_Course,(Figure 8 Circuit, which is not found in CW.) some of them, for example, is too large, or have a leak, to be opened... Pinball_Course is too large, just to tell you Test1_course is leaked! It may open but its very glitchy, but we can try to fix it so we can see it in MKDS Final! Nobody knows why... ** Test Brock1 isn't named but its very glitchy, in game it is a beta version of rainbow road, but on MKDS Course Modifier, it has the bridge from delfino pier, one of those turning things from Tick Tock Clock, And a mysterius checkered block... Continued: Some Screenshots: My Course file named Test2_Course(build 1) Made from GS(Google Sketch) Right now exporting files for colision...(which is not responding ![]() Then with MKDS Course modifier on my first project: Rainbow textured Dokan course... File name Dokan_Course My Custom Dokan Course: And then old_block_city_gctex.carc(GCN Block City(battle map) This one I'm going to finish the actual version since nintendo scrapped this... UPDATE!!!
If any of you played MArio Kart Double Dash well I've ported GCN Sherbet Island onto the final PM me now if you want to test it. Credit to Youtube user MKDS2. SNES Rainbow Road(without thwomps) have also been ported from someone... No comfirmation when that track will be released... Pogress 12% Things to do: Custom Track Make more tracks GCN Baby Park to have more laps(like 7) N64 Rainbow Road CPU route needed and Item boxes on GCN Sherbert Island |
