Ok, I havnt really gone through the whole thread but I've seen ideas that people would like a guild only place like a house or some island. I've seen another that mentions adding in shipwreck cove and another to add in pirate dice.

As I've said I havnt got through the whole thread and I don't know if a similar Idea has already been posted but I'm putting up mine while it's fresh in my head still.

Say we take the idea of shipwreck cove, mix it with the guild island/ house idea and make shipwreck cove that house/island. It would of course be a hangout for your guild, but hmm what is there to do here? Any activities?

Ok! Now we have that so now let's add something to do. Now here's where we add the pirate dice, I would like to see a new game to sit down and bet my money on, still including tortuga Holdem and blackjack as well of course. Now we can add fishing to it. Though may not be the most favorite activity. For this place cannon defense could be changed just a little bit. Instead of bandit raiders trying to take loot from a town we have the navy trying to break into the as they said in the 3rd movie "fortress" as it is.

And not just some room to stand in either, you got stairs to go to the next floor, maybe even a top floor to look over all of shipwreck cove.

Now it can stay as this, it can be added to or thrown out completely but it seems good to me.

I have said this before but it was awhile back so... I think a guild island would be cool with the ability to add npc s as desired (clothes,tavern,blacksmith etc etc.) fun place to hang out and have guild meetings and such but you could also use it for guild vs guils pvp battles. One guild is landing jolly rogers style and one is defending. If the attackers get to a set of flags they get more lives if the run out before they lose (think battlefield if you have played it) if the attackers reach the main guild hall its all over.

Yea that's a good idea. Maybe ya could add some sort of contest for that too like a tournament. There could be regular everyday matches but some could be monthly or every other month contest battle. Winning team gets some special item redeem code. I dunno about battlefield but sounds more guild wars to me, Capture mines(spawn points), break through gates and kill the fort master before the time set (20 minutes) finishes. Then attack force loses defending wins. But yea I got the concept of it, it's fun and interesting to play.

All of these things sound completely wonderful, and if we didn't have lag, disconnections, or other things, I would be right up there with you guys. But we don't so I feel POTCO should address the smallest stuff first. Glitches/Lag and graphics. Yeah.

Well, for starters, I think its annoying when I'm plundering, having a good time with my guild, and I begin to lag and almost disconnect! I'm running a fairly good Mac and still I'm getting lag. It doesn't add up. Other games do NOT do not do that. Trust me. But yet POTCO hasn't fixed this yet. Sure, it is impossible to abolish it completely, but reducing it is really possible. This also leads into Glitches.

Glitches, glitches, glitches... Oh, they are fun, but from a designer standpoint, they are frowned apon. Now, I love glitching back into the bar and glitching into other areas to shorten time. But these really shouldn't be here. It's not good... Not good at all. I mean, the Darkhart glitch was good, but it was sad that it happened. Again, this is something else that POTCO must fix to get back up there in the gaming area.

Finally, there is graphics. POTCO is running Panda3D, and not only that, but an old, expired, FREE VERSION. Yep. Making stuff and not spending a dime, yet we pay for access. Of course, some of that money goes to the workers and Disney, but that doesn't matter. I am frustrated with the graphics. I'm paying my money for a good game. Now POTCO is a very nice game, but I would like a bit more graphics. This game almost looks like an old PS2 game. I mean, I wish that they could use our money for newer graphics that are of this time. It would look better, run smoother, and be better. Just the way it is. I think if the graphics got smoothed and worked on, POTCO would look better. A Galleon wouldn't look like something gotten off the internet, made 3D, and just pasted around like a skin. No, this would look authentic, and would look good. The sails would look good. The paint would look good. Everything would look good...

Now, I couldn't ever walk away from this game we all have loved and shared because of problems, but seriously. I think this is what has decreased POTCO. When this gets fixed, POTCO could be so much better alone, without updates! Its just simple programming and using the money they have gotten. Ok ok ok. Assuming this all got done, I have yet another long list for awesome updates... Main Idea: UNIQUE STYLE

Does it only bother me that we all fight the same basically, wear almost the same thing at times, have the same skills, and (until recently) have the same ships? I think customization and unique style is key. Thats why I purposefully talk like a pirate, so I can relive the life, and be unique. But I think outfits should be even more unique. I would like to not have the same perfect base as the next guy like robots. I think small things like untucked, different shirt types in general, and crafting your own can make a big difference. This is also with fighting. Take sword fighting in general. We all "Hack" "Slash" "Cleave" "Flourish" and "Thrust" the same way. Sure, we can change it with a sabre or broadsword, but we are basically still all doing the same thing. We need to be able to change our hand, add a personal touch, or look awesome at the end of doing something. Same with skills and Ships. There isn't much we can do with ships, and with the new update I think it has basically changed the way that works. I think that is what I want. *gasp* Aah.. Breathe that air.

1) Other games do not lag because they're run by companies who effectively spend the money to program their business-qualified games to run even on the most run-down machines. Disney's Pirates Online does not pass business standards.

No business that wants a lot of money ever dares to use Panda 3D to make a great game.

Not a single one.

Not enough people skilled at it and it's undocumented, lacks graphics support on the newer graphics cards, etc.

It basically FAILS.

2) I can tell you that no glitches are ever frowned upon by the developers.

Why? Because of this system:

Stay working on the same issue for weeks = Don't have to work on anything new or challenging = Still get paid the same = make "fake" fixes to stall for time = Cheating the company

3) POTCO was better when it didn't have all these updates.

People actually played man. There were PvP matches 14/7 in Abassa. Guild competitions and alliences.

Everyone left already. The game is close to shutting down (sad to say).

Definitely. I went on last night for a PVP. My match chances of getting someone: Low.. I just don't get it. I do understand this isn't Disney's main attraction, no doubt. But could they at least put some effort back in? They have left us in the dust. This game is never talked about. I wish it would come back and be awesome and cool. I mean it is, but I wish Disney could put more time in and make it the best it could be.

Yeah. Now what I can't think up is a way to convince them. I think if at this rate, they are going to crash and burn. And if you send a e-mail/complaint, it seems to never get read.. Ugh...

I have been sending e-mails to Member Services and going into Live Chat to bring attention to these common issues that have been plaguing the game this whole year.

They refuse to take any action whatsoever, even after my well-written, assertive messages and requests.

There was a time where I loved to log into Pirates Online each and every day... that time was shut down after island updates and other changes to the game.

Miss those good years... D:

I want the most simple thing, yet the 'hardest' to achieve for POTCO's developers and most ignored thing in POTCO. Curious what it is? IF you know me by now, you know.

1.FIX BUGS/GLITCHES
2.FIX LAG...GET BETTER SERVERS OR GAME SOFTWARE
3.HAVE A GAME PLAN IN WHICH THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.


I am really getting tired of so many problems in POTCO. Today i was sailing for materials when i let someone sail then ended up in space... That's one of many new bugs and there are still bugs that exist for over a year. They always fix one bug but add 3... Lag is still terrible. Jumpy ships everywhere in svs and there were only like 10 ships out. They also seem to be doing stuff at random, no game/work plan at all in game developing.

My suggestion list is stuff that should already have been added in POTCO. 4 years have passed but I see it as a horrible progressive game. This is also like a work plan in which i would like to see stuff come out in order. This is what i want to see after the above list:

1. A second story quest, as long as the first Pearl quest or longer but it is harder to achieve and gives a reward that actually works.(unlike leadership that does the opposite of helping).
2. A New SvS island. I and others like me pay and play the game just because of SvS. To be fair, a new PvP cave or Guild Vs Guild PvP system as well.
3. One new permanent skill per each weapon/cannon/sailing.There has been no new skill since game release
4. Increase level cap to 55 or 60 with weapon levels to 35.
5. More quests that can be given by random friendly NPC's on the major isles.
6. Expand Ship Customization: Level 5 Hull Upgrades/Level 3 Rigging Upgrades/more Emblems


I don't know how long I will continue to play but It would be great achievement in my opinion if they could achieve the points above in the following year. It's almost 2012 and technology allows us to to almost anything with game development being one of the easy subjects under it. They are all possible and all can be achieved in less than a year with the proper knowledge and tools which i hope Disney Interactive Studios does not lack(they shouldn't lack anything).

I don't know if someone has already said this but I will go ahead anyway. Sorry if i am repeating.

I am not much of a PvP player however it would be nice if you could actually fight another pirate at the spot. Similar to other games, you challenge another player and fight. That's of course if the game can handle this type of PvP without crashing.

I can think of a few good updates to make to Pirates Online.

1. Add an option to the launcher where someone can switch it to full screen of windowed mode. "Me personally I want to put it in windowed mode, but I have the problem with trying to change it in game, it comes out to the windowed but stays black. I know it happens to others cause their a post with using the file notepad P_working_options. That use to work for me, but this time it doesn't." Adding that option in the launch would solve it for everyone so it could be played in full screen or windowed mode before even in-game.

2. I think it'd be great if an option could be added for the ship owner to be able to go through the loot on his ship and delete any they don't know. I know others like this idea cause I always see people talking about it in-game. For most it'd be great to be able to throw out cargo crates. And for others that only want ship materials they can throw out everything else. That would be a great option for everyone for the ship owner to be able to go through his loot on his ship before porting.

Everything else is just some general ideas I have, that are some suggestions.

3. Bring back being able to see other people on other ships, say two people that talk on an outside program such as Skype, Teamspeak, Ventrilo, etc want to use a separate ship for role-play purpose can move up next to each other and see them on their ships instead of it looking empty. Also another concept to this is just like boarding an NPC flag ship, maybe add an option for two ship owners to ask each if boarding is okay they would hit yes or no on a request that pops up and pull up next to each other and boards set up between ships to walk across. That would be great for people who enjoy role-play type stuff.

4. Another ship suggestion. Maybe add complete visual damage, like where a cannonball hits it will show the hole there in complete detail, any thing like a firebrand one that hits it catches fire to that section of ship.

Keep the game but add a bunch more stuff, POTC Online creaters and editors should really see this board for more details. I would like more adventures and more islands as well, and add more ships!
