I know this is day dreaming here, but it may be a possibility that with the release of the new ships, which will be accessed solely by UA players, Basics will then recieve access to regular ships (i.e. the Medium-sized Galleons, Sloops, and Frigates?)

I don't believe a word they are saying. I have seen too many of those "something's coming soon" type announcements. Until I see them hitting Test then I will be slightly happier.
And why keep it a "secret", I mean, just say "this is what we are doing and we are working on it". Saying what actually is coming out will attract players back before the release and not after the release.
Which brings me to release times.
I would rather hear them say "we don't know when" than to hear "soon". The first option says to me that they are taking the time to work out the kinks to have a good product to put out on Test, then after all proper testing is done (not just bragging about who has played with the product first) they can release a perfect product. The second option means "we really don't know but will try to rush it out" and it also means a week at most on Test.

I am glad they are doing things to improve the game, whatever those things may be, as long as they are done right and without any rush. And without the vague info.

I do not think POTCO administrators and developers are going to reveal any sort of information besides "something is coming soon". That's their job. They'll tell you just that.

I think armor is extremely likely, as there are bronze and gold cannons in the phase files and they've been there for some time now. I believe there's another cannon type but I can't remember.

Anyways, along with the new ships, I think this will be a good update, providing we do get it. I wouldn't expect this too soon because they've promised things before and we haven't gotten them.

If I do remember correctly from lurking on those old Phase File threads, was that cannon a kind of undead-ish cannon?

And yeah, armor will clearly be an update for ships. How it'll work, I know not, but I am quite excited!

I cant really argue with that. I still remember Johnny Darkwalker's face when we took down a fleet for his first time.

Anyways, I would LOVE for ship customuzation to come out. (Sorry if I failed on the spelling.) It would mean that I could finally prove the Swan's finesse and deadliness.

What's probably going to happen is Disney will announce the big update, but say they don't know when it will be put on test and that it could take months. I could be wrong though.

The Pirates Online YouTube is pretty legit. They did say "coming soon" with Infamy as well.

Maybe the big new ships will be UA only...and the basics get more of the ships that already exist.

I bet there will be new slots so we can own more ships.

I could definitely see them adding in three to six new ship classes and making the original three accessible for all members, whether basic or unlimited. It would be a treat for all members, actually.

I just hope that if they plan on releasing ship customization with this update, it's big. I really don't want something small like only differnet color sails.
