Mine keeps saying error, and that you can't change it unless you are 13 with the age in your account.

The chat system is perfectly fine for POTCO, other than some words being blocked such as bit, and phrases that are perfectly fine.

If you're under 13, I'm really glad they make it so only your parents can change the account options with a parent password, because kids shouldn't be changing around their chat preferences just because they want to say numbers, and see other players say numbers.

It's for their own safety, whether they like it or not.

Davy, I agree with you on this.
It's annoying they block out words that have nothing wrong with them...
The numbers thing I can understand but other words that aren't bad?
Doesn't make sense to me.

Anyone ever notice that "cut" is filtered? Shouldn't be a big deal, but umm.... Cut, Swipe, Gouge, Eviscerate? Hmmm.... weird huh? And half the Davy Jones enemies arent in the dictionary... and a bunch of lost weapons (Skullbone, Scoundrel's, Mercer's, loads more), Darkhart, Darton, I can go on and on. They should seriously update their list.

Some people will use words that seem perfectly fine in situations where that perfectly fine word sounds similar to an inappropriate word.

Those words have been taken out of the game dictionary so younger players will never be exposed to words that they don't need to be exposed to.

If a word seems perfectly fine, it probably isn't. There are people out there that will use perfectly fine words so they sound like bad words.

But names such as Jay are red words....that doesn't make sense.
I think there are a lot of words that should be accepted.

Seriously, if they added something into the game, such as a weapon, enemy, clothing item, etc. that uses a name that isn't in the chat dictionary, they should add it. Cut is a basic dagger combo. If that is inappropriate, why have it in the first place? And there are plenty words they allow that players use in place of curse words (then again, maybe thats good so they don't say the actual thing.)

Yes! The weapon, enemy and clothing item bit I have been thinking about recently.
It sucks when a younger player doesn't know what others are talking about.
Also, "Chimera" is a red word but while on test I noticed it wasn't. Nate pointed out it's probably because of the fish Black Chimera, so I believe they will be changing some words once the updates hit test.

Whoof, it was a while ago. Can't exactly remember, but it you have to go to parental controls under account services on the main POTCO page. I would just get some help via phone or live chat, because it is quite difficult to figure out.
