It's the grenades that I HATE
Well once you fully master them you kinda start to like them but leveling them is the pain.

To Musicalklutz:
Be sure you go to post #7, counting over from the broken part of the fence. Back up only 4 steps. Start with the Stink Pot and target the group. I held down the mouse button trigger until the indicator was about 60-65%, then let go. I noticed that if I had to share the location with any other pirate, regardless of whether they were using nades or staff, the soldiers would make it through the fence. Be sure you go to a quiet server, and are there alone, or only with one other pirate who is there to help you tp back after resupplying yourself with ammo, so you don't have to sail. Try to avoid sending any more long volleys to bring over more of the group. The more the group splits up the harder it is to keep them on the right side of the fence. Just my observations. Hope it helps! Andrea Shorecastle/Darkcastle

Grenades are cool, but if you are in standard combat, you won't really have time to throw another because your enemy always comes running quickly towards you. When you throw a grenade, it seems like it has to be a spot-on hit for it to do any damage (there's no clear indicator of where the grenade will land), which is annoying. I don't like the dagger because it does so little damage by itself and if I am battling a high-level enemy, I have to switch weapons because even though I keep pounding the enemy with the dagger, my health still runs down so I have to draw the Cutlass to finish him off. Sometimes the throwing knives can be useful though.

Everyone has their own opinons on weapons, I personally like them all. Each has their own advantages and bad points, but this makes the game challenging and can you honestly tell me you do not want a challenge? Daggers do a little less damage but they have faster attacks along with ranged attacks and they slow enemies down quite a bit. Grenades do crazy damage so its really no prob that they take soooo long to reload. Just what I think :P

I LOVE GRENADES. 1) I liked the quest even more before they changed it more challenging the better. 2) Paid for most of my War Frigates this way. 3) Determination is one of my favorite passive skills. My cannon rocks due to demolitions. I will be the first to admit they can take time to level after level 20, but if you keep them out ahead of other weapons by about 5 levels it is not bad. |

Sorry to those who like them, but i despise nades, for all of the reasons mentioned.
I also find them noisy and messy, which aggravates my natural "antsy-ness", so they are practically useless to me. The very last thing i will level is nades. |

Ugh grenades of course lol. They take painful amounts of time to level up and it always seems that they are always gone ( keep throwing sieges for fun haha ). On top of that, grenades are the second weapon that cause damage to yourself, but they are good for attacking groups of enemies.

Undoubtedly the Grenades. My Lv50 Pirate's grenades are still Lv28, and, believe it or not, I have never mastered them. Not even when the max was Lv40/Lv25. Even now, I don't level them, but I find they do good damage, and are good for killing groups of enemies. They're just a pain to train ( No pun intended ).

4. Have a large range of explosion, and can damage you and mess you up. 5. If it does hit you as well, it can really do some serious damage, and leave the Grenade's effect. 6. The new version of the Grenades quest is tedious and annoying. I hate it, plain and simple. I miss the old quest ( And other quests - especially the Story Quests ). Here are the good sides of Grenades, and the reasons why I LIKE them: 1. There's some thing with them where if you click the type of Grenade you are using, you skip reloading the Grenade. 2. They deal some good damage and have a wide explosive range. 3|A. Explosive, although very limited when first obtained, are good damage-doers. 3|B. Stink Pot is good for fishing up groups of enemies, although it can be risky with it's wide explosive range and the fact that it slows you down. 3|C. Fire Bomb's Burn effect is useful with the Wound effect Grenades have. 3|D. Smoke Screen isn't the most useful Grenade, is the choice of grenades because of how weak it is. However, it is very limited ( Being only 80 Smoke Bombs with the Large Pouch ), so it doesn't last forever. It also doesn't really lower the enemie's accuracy much ( But you can always assist it with Throw Dirt and Taunt - that will really lower the accuracy of your enemy ). 3|E. Siege Charge is the choice of Grenades if you want to kill a group of enemies quickly. It has a large explosive range, and is capable of dealing major damage to enemies ( I can kill a Lv50 Urchinfist/Thrall Captain in 4-5 Siege Charges ). However, it does serious damage to yourself if it detonates too close to your pirate - add that up with the Wound effect. Obviously, you don't want to use this Grenade for leveling. So again, the Grenades are my least favorite weapon, but I still like them because of the damage they deal out. Just my two cents, literally. |

grenades are terrible because if you have a macbook or macbook pro with only 1 button, its like impossible to aim them and lvl up

...wouldn't a voodoo-nade that does reverse on an enemy/enemies for a few seconds ...turn soldiers to zombies..and turn undead to living....be cool...or an atomic-nade that shows their x-ray and saps mega strength from them..but effect only last a sec or two and amount you can carry limited...or really expensive or something...
