From my recollection, Disney actually does fix stuff on weekends, and if need be during the night hours. I think they have extra ppl there when they release stuff, as it is played in MANY time zones/continents. We all know they do nightly maintenance around midnight central, which means there has to be SOMEONE who is able to do stuff there then, on a regular basis, and with a new release I'm sure they have more people working nights/weekends. This was a HUGE update, and I'm sure the progammers are quite busy writing code to fix the bugs that have been thus far found/reported. It's the test server. That's why they have us. If you don't want to "lose" your stuff, then perhaps "test" is not the place for you. I've been testing for Disney since 2003, and have seen a LOT of ppl come and go. The test environment is NOT for everyone.

tried chat again and i got this
Thank you for your patience. A Technical Support Representative will be with you shortly. You are now chatting with 'Burt' Burt: Unfortunately due to the nature of the Test Server, I do not have an answer for that question. Your weapons may or may not be restored. Bart Blade: ok thank you |

I do not think losing our weapons should cause any panic, because at the rate of the drop - which happens ever so frequently, you can get back all your weapons in a day or two.
In an hour or two, you could have even filled up your weapon inventory, as long as Disney does not decide to decrease the frequency of the plunder from enemies. |

Here's to hoping luvbug is right. Glug glug. I was having a lot of fun testing out the new system. However I'm also patient enough to give Disney the time they need to fix the issue. I'm sure they have a LOT of code to go through to find the problem(s). As for whether or not we get the weapons back, I agree with Big Bad Wolf. I'm really not worried about it. The loss of the weapons I found in one day of testing is not a big deal at all.

Aye, give me a rusty cutlass and a little while with a boss and I'll be ready to take on the world again. That being said I had nothing specail before the update. If I had finished a High level quest for clothes or weps I might feel a bit different. I still think you could probably get what you had or better quickly but you did do the work for it. I wouldn't bet on getting your stuff back. Just the number of accounts and all of them having 4 people adds up to alot of pirate loot gone. So unless they have a big BACK button to reset it to the way it was I would think not.

All in a day's work as a tester I guess. But I've been test for almost a year now and don't remember anything as wildly messed up as this though.
I initially started this just warn people what might happen if they log in. It is not the loss of the new weapons that worries me. Those are plentiful and fun to look for. But some of us also lost gold and all our clothes and our original weapons. Again, not a real problem as long as long as they don't have to totally reset the server. I would HATE to start from level 1 again. I can say this about the new update. Once it is fixed, it is a game changer for me. On the best of days I hate level grinding. But once you finish the game, what else is left? But on the one day that the update worked well, level grinding didn't feel like level grinding. It was more like treasure hunting. It made the mindless mouse clicks of fighting of random foes feel purposeful and fun again, even though I had absolutely nothing to accomplish. I hope they can fix it. Edit: I have to be honest. I am REALLY going to miss my Baboon Broadsword. I loved that sword.

I may be totally wrong, but heres what I'm thinking... since the site has been closed for quite a while now, I'm afraid the developers saw what was happening, and closed the site because they didn't want more pirates losing all their stuff. Which leads me to think that they have no way of hitting a big BACK button for us to roll back to so we can have what we had. Maybe everyone that lost all their stuff will have to start all over. If this is the case, will they allow us to do the clothing quests over for those certain items from them that some of us like. Man, the developers are prolly working hard to fix the issue, Im not holding my breath on getting anything back. That's easy for me to say because I didn't lose anything important since I was on a fairly new pirate.
Im not asking these questions looking for answers, just posting my thoughts and questions that Im rolling over in my head. And I agree with Luvbug about if this bothers you, then maybe test isn't the place for you. I don't play on live at all, and haven't in over 8 months now. If all goes haywire, that's what I'm there for,.... so bugs like this doesn't go to live and happen there... could you imagine this bug on live. Oh how I laugh imaging that!!! |

I think they can and have fixed the bug that caused the recent problems, the issue is what to do with what was lost. I think they are trying to recover everyones lost items. Think about it I know my pirate lost his staff and nades and when trying to buy more before they closed the game it told me I needed training but the quest to aquire these items was not available. So the only option is to tell everyone on test to scratch their pirates and start over or figure out a way to get at least what players had before the update back. Just my 2 cents.

I would be disappointed to lose all my quest weapons, but I am sure I can find something to replace them if they are truly lost. I do wonder about the weapons quests that were back in my journal when they first updated. If those remain, then I will be able to replace at least some of the weapons I lost.
I'm not so concerned about the clothing items since I never wore any of them on my main test pirate. I still have my ships, so it will only be a matter of time before I can replace all the gold that I lost, and I certainly won't mind going shopping again. |

Honestly? If it gets fixed, I don't really care about what I lost. If I play on the test server, I need to be prepared for this kind of stuff.
Give me a rusty cutlass, some pants and I'll do the rest.

The worst thing that D has ever done to me is set me back to where I was before an update. Granted if you worked weapons and leveled a lot, this will BLOW, but it was only two days...Imagine if you had been grinding weapons for a month!
Be patient, we are making the game better for the open server. That's what we do. Skip

Glad people realize that this is the purpose of test, make the game better for live
Personally it won't bother me whatever happens, as long as the update is prepared to hit live. Kinda funny to see some people in game getting upset over it though.. ![]() Plus... this update makes leveling more fun, as you are more focused on finding loot, rather than actually leveling

It must be a pretty major fix for test to be down this long. Has this every happened before? (Just curious)
I'm glad they are making an all - out effort to fix it before they release it to open. Cudos to all the test pirates for sacrificing their time, effort, hard work (and evidently gold, clothes, weapons, and ships too) for the rest of us so that we can enjoy a bug-less game (not bug free, mind ya LOL ) ![]() Kat |
