*Thinks real hard for a good long minute*
Well, first off, I'll state this: In my opinion, Davy Jones will not be in the game, if ever, in at least 1 year and a half. Sure, theres videos of him, and hes in the phase files, but theres also images of: the Kraken, Guild Islands, New Weapons, Different types of cannons.... catch my drift? A long with this, currently, Jolly Roger is the main enemy in the game, and it is most likely going to stay that way. With that said, I'm going to pick Jones apart for a second: Jones is the harbinger of lost souls to the "other side." Basically, hes the pirate version of the Grim Reaper - near impossible to escape his grasp, but hes willing to make a deal as long as its within the boundaries of his favor, savvy? Now, since Jack Sparrow was in debt to Jones, Jones went after him. In retrospect, Jones only cares about you either ye be "Dead or dieing," or you just so happen to owe him. Therefore, Jones really doesn't care about the Caribbean. Next, keep in mind, wasn't it Beckett who took siege of Jones and ship because he had Jones's heart? If somebody did that to me, I'd be pretty mad, hm? So, we can't really say he doesn't care about the Navy/EITC. But then again, the game really falls in between the first and second movies, so we are not quite there yet. Jones and Roger having a partnership? Well, lets think about this. Partnerships are usually formed over a common goal. Jolly Roger wants to gain complete control of the Caribbean, while Jones is trying to reap the dead sailors of the Caribbean, along with finding Mr. Sparrow. Yes, ok, you could say Roger is after Jack too. But then again, Roger's goals seem to flip-flop as the storyline progresses, hm? Now, who is more powerful... hm. Lets break it down: Jolly Roger: Thousands upon thousands of Undead Soldiers at his disposal, unholy voodoo powers to a near unlimited extent, only held back by voodoo charms planted by Tia Dalma (after all, remember Muertos Moon?), control of numerous caverns as outposts amongst the Caribbean, goal is to rid the Caribbean of all pirates and others who will not accept his rule. Davy Jones: A sizable, very powerful and dangerous crew, complete control of Tormenta, the Flying Dutchman and the Kraken at his disposal, seeks to eliminate those who wrong him and guide souls to the other side. Wellllllll, seeing as it is.. I'm gonna go with Roger. He just seems to have more power in his palm. Just my opinion, though. |

Delmaria i completely agree with yer views, well summed up. Except the fact that Davy is stronger than JR. Reasons : though Roger has been portrayed as an Undead demigod, Davy Jones is the KING of the seas. He controls far more than all you mentioned . His name in nautical lore stands for Devil Jonas. He is literally the evil. As Maccus says in the 2nd movie : " It turns out that not even Jack Sparrow can best the devil ", referring to Jones.
On the other hand, it happening in the movies' story between the first and second movies, his power can be considered to be limited than what it seems. As there was hardly a mention of him in the movies, meaning him not being SO powerful, and we can assume that he just is a guy o the side, and because of him you can see walking skeletons on several islands. |

I think they are allies. At least for the time being. They seem to have an enemy in common. As well as an friend in common in the EITC.

I find it less strange that Jolly and Davy would have an alliance than that Jolly and the EITC would have one. Think about it. Beckett controlled Jones, but how does he control Jolly? Say the EITC and Jolly suceeded in killingall the pirates and taking over the Caribbean. Then what? Jolly blasts the EITC into oblivian, right? I also don't think jones is in any particular hurry to make alliances, because he doesn't really want to rule land anyway.
