Why are they fixing some of these things anyways. I thought there was an issue with Mac users. I am sure the testers have found more issues more important than all of these... I mean, Go Disney! Thanks for fixing all of these huge problems.

Hmm.. going through another avatar seems to be a downgrade, at least for me. Me main reason is because it doesn't seem as realistic when you're running through people like a ghost, unless is that not what the feature meant?

Overall, I'm glad to see more improvements to the sailing aspect. This game needs more improvements to more piratey things such as the sailing experience. Hopefully they're looking in the Ideas/Suggestions forum for lots of great ideas posted by our members in those regards.

I simply love what they have done with sailing, it is excellent now! I have never played a game with
such realistic water-boat-wind effects (not many games have it, but still)! Great job Disney! I wonder where all this ship enhancement is leading, more things to do at sea..? Hmm? ![]() As for the walking through people... I don't mind, it is fine with me, at least i won't be lagging so much on Ideal Oceans!

If I recall correctly, the game environment hardly affects the sailing at all. There is no current, no wind, etc. For comparison purposes, the ships drive like cars for the most part. The most I can think of at the moment that affects the sailing is the build up/slow down in speed when starting/stopping and how turning decreases your speed. There is still a lot of extra things they could do to make it better, though making it too realistic would be a drawback in some respects.

more, because of the increased amount of waves, which makes it harder for the broadsides to hit the enemy ship. Your hull has become stronger, and the enemy ships' aim is much better. Just like in reality i'd think. With the wind i meant the wind that your sails take, and the increased speeds your ship is gaining lately. Excellent. ![]() When you turn your ship, it lists more than it used to, which i find very nice. I don't recall ever stating it was perfect. Of course there can be more done, but i am not in need of change. I like it the way it is, and if something is changed, i am glad about it! And i don't play car games, so i wouldn't know ![]() I was just expressing my own personal opinion about the matter

Oh well Dueces... at least we had the epic scavenger hunt AFK pushes!! That was just too much fun watching you try to move me around.
Teehee.. this means you won't ever be able to shove me off a cliff as a prize for winning the last hunt. And no more AFK push races... that just ain't right. I think I'm gonna cry. Jeeessssss... what will I do if I can't put you into a glitch? Now I'm really upset that I didn't get screenies of the last time I moved you. *pouting ...and wondering what in the world Disney is thinking.

As Sven said above, too much attention to one feature can be a draw back in some aspects. I like the idea (haven't tested it yet) if the ships were able to rock more, be affected by the winds, etc. Though there is still a lot of improvements they could do, for example, make the ships seem more realistic. Sailing a war galleon next to outcast.. the size is dramatic. A war frigates sails are as tall as, if not taller, than Kingshead Fort. So an increase in size of the islands would be nice, as well as the distance between them. It wold make things seem much more piratey when sailing a ship like the Black Pearl across long distances of ocean and making port at an island to resupply, etc. Another feature to the ships they could add are a pirate's personal flag and allowing the members to go below deck to man the broadsides; a brig wouldn't hurt either
. Though I think the new Boss Battle [New Goliath] could be foreshadowing the new ship class. - Remember the Name the Ship contest . All in all, they do make some good improvements with a few draw backs attached. I just hope they don't make too may changes that will have a negative affect on the game.

I have to say I dont like the boost to enemy ship defenses. Ships are at just the right amount of defense compared to fun factor at the moment, this change will make it less fun IMO. 25 percent is a huge buff to the enemy.
It remains to be seen if this hull buff counters that, but it will certainly be a much larger time sink. I wonder how long it will take now for someone sailing solo to down a hard ship. I hope its not like downing a mob on shore, some of those fights are rediculously long... |

Hi lol. Padre Del Fuego now boots anyone who tries to TP over there. and if your pirate last landed on Padre (before the update), which means you will land on Padre when u log that pirate in. Seeing that Padre is bugged right now, that pirate will never be able to load on Padre. :P |

Well, I hope they fix that. Other than that this update is finally ready to come to the live game.

Ahoy, I spent some time working ships last night. Couple of things I found were that you no longer need to hit the mast dead on. All you have to do now if hit the sails to do damage. I tested this on several ships - never hitting the mast.
Also on galleons you used to get a damage boost if you hit the front down by the waterline. The damage is the same from the water to the rail now. The ships seem a little tougher but if you can still take them down. As Jeanne said Chainshot is greatly improved and actually worth getting now. I used to use thunder instead as it did a much better job on masts. Personally I like the new detail on the ships. They look much better than before to me. All for now. There are still some bugs to be fixed so I think we will need another update to test before we can call it ready to ship over to live in my opinion. The PDF thing has to be fixed. Captain Whale |

I will give that a try next time I am on there Sven. That would be really cool!
I always preferred Thunder mostly because of the range. That way I didn't have to put the points into both. I sail alot and it's easier to take the big ship's masts down at range with thunder. Captain Whale |

Was taken on the big ships around PDF last night on my war frigate, lvl 18 sailing and lvl 23 cannon. Yes, it does take a little more to put them down, depending upon which ammo you are using. But wasn't that bad. At times, before this upgrade, it was too easy to take the big boys down. And for lower lvl pirate ships and cannons, yes it will be harder for them. But it should be. ![]() Capt C Ray |
