TEST Release Notes - Dec 1, 2009

TEST Release Notes - December 1, 2009
  • Pirates are no longer physically blocked by other Pirates. This means you can walk through another Pirate rather than having to walk around them. This makes it easier to walk through tight, crowded spaces.
  • Cutthroat island is visible on the map again.
  • Fixed an invasion bug that caused infinite waves of Jolly Roger's minnions.
  • Ship sails and masts will now take significant damage from chain shot.
  • Ship hull armor is now more effective across all ships.
  • Boosted defensive capabilities of enemy ships by 25 percent.
  • Fixed several collision issues in the light and war frigates.
  • Fixed several coloring issues on various ships.
  • Fixed ocean color on the Kingshead docks.

Please report any issues you encounter using this feedback form.

Looks like there is no more picking on AFK people... I liked it for just the invasions only though, since there it served an actual purpose.

All great fixes, ty for those. Even the one that prevents others from pushing the afk's, not that I would have had a problem with it, after all, it's just a cartoon character that gets pushed in the drink, not me in person.

Awwww, no more AFK pushing. lol

Guess I will have to hit test side tonight and do some sailing. Thanks for all the work Big D.

I hope they made it so walking through people in PvP isn't a matter, but the rest of this stuff looks alright. Still, I need a little more to do before I get back on the lag-train.

It's good to see more improvements to sailing (best part of the game) but alas the Dueces will miss one of our most favorite sports. On a side note, I don't I've ever had a problem getting around a pirate even in tight spaces... it's just a jump to the left (or was that a step to the right?).

It'd be nice to be able to choose... Besides wanting to be able to push Jess into shrubbery, I don't like strangers in my personal space. :(

I don't think I'll be a fan of being able to go through someone. It just doesn't seem right. I can't go through someone in real life so why should I be able to in a game?

I don't mind getting pushed into the drink. I was actually watching someone push my afk into the drink. It gave me a show to watch and honestly I'd miss it.

So now instead of getting pushed we will have a clan of pirates walking up and standing inside of me.

I have to agree on all counts. While the personal space being removed for invasions was a fun little side effect, it just doesn't seem like something we should have at all times. Or maybe it should be something reserved for Ideal to Full servers only. What crowd is there on a Quiet server after all. Too bad they didn't make it kick in when x number of pirates appear on any given server.

I am really going to miss pushing people around. Yes, it takes a while, but it's a lot of fun to get your buddy where you want them and come up with some silly comment. Makes for great screenies. Sigh, no more epic AFK pushing. Now how will I waste time? ;)

PS. Don't think we'll have much trouble coming up with a new sport. :D

I too will miss the AFK dunkings and moving around. Another down side to this is not being able to move people out of harms way. I've moved many a pirate and saved them from jail.

Down side to the updates today:
I have only been able to log into test once. Decided to change pirates after the update, and was booted with by a bug. Tried a couple more times to log in and same thing. Anyone else with this issue??

Hope to get back to test soon......

So POTCO turned us all into Ghosts? If POTCO meant to be as pirate like as E-10 possible, they might consider the fact of walking into someone? It might be good for fighting in tight spaces, but, it takes realism out of the game, When boarding a ship how often was it that 2 pirates collided and fell over? I don't think it was infrequent. I don't know of any universe in which living beings on it can just walk through something. But in addition, this might cause some "Undesirable Chat" in Abassa and other places.... It would have been best if POTCO left this the old way.

But for the other updates, glad to see POTCO updated ships amour.

Hey just think tho - the new game is 'How many pirates can you get inside one person?'

Jeanne Stormcutter 12-02-2009 08:43 PM

Hehe, already tested Nelly! :laughks2:

We tried with 20 and the result was... Uh... A pirate blob? :D
