Singapore was an island in the movie series, so its hard to say. Now as far as it not being in the caribbean? Neither were Voodoo dolls and staffs like those our pirates have. So the game is not limited to "Real World" geography or ideals. The given places in the game although truly existing by name did not exist as they are in the real world.
Port Royal was a city, Tortuga was a city... neither were islands.
Cuba on the other hand... is.

yes i agree staffs, dolls, fury, thunderbolt are unrealistic but that doesnt mean they should make it so weird as to put a South East asian island in the caribbean, theres no doubt that it can be possible to teleport to this different sea as you reach lvl 30 or something. But i completely disagree with it being in the caribbean or sailing to it for that matter. also worse of an idea by some is tat davy jones' locker should be an island of sorts. my views on that is that there should be the existance of role playing items. such as a very powerful staff and only one person can have it anyone who finds him shall take on him to get it. similarly there can be at least 3 navigational maps from sao feng's family. one thing is that guild members or friends cannot turn on you as you own it, while others can . but if i belong to a guild, then the person wanting to take on me shall fight when his guild declares war on mine. so getting the charts shall take you to the locker by teleporting to another extra sea ( just as the singaporean one i mentioned ) and ythis place being big, holds the gateway to the next world only using the charts.
