I agree for the most part, and even talking of pets myself, I would put that as a much lower priority than other things.

Notoriety can be raised while not seeing weapon increase, it would just require a new skill, which I believe a good possibility.

Kraken and such things I could accept later (little later) if something like a major story chapter kept pirates busy.

Some aspects such as listed on the UK site, have some great possibilities. Unique curses, if its just not to simple and every pirate have the same thing it in a day type thing.

Custom ships can be made very challenging, and hope for not spending 10k in gold and have everything type thing also.

Unique items, clothes, jewelry, tattoos, scars.

Trade system.

Lag a always on going situation that will require work each and every new event, effects, and just changes in general.
