To throw grenades faster keep hiting ctrl then any number to change grenade type and repeat. It is like rapid reload. Just vary the grenade types. The grenades just pop out of your hand.

This also works with the Left Mouse Button and the ammo Number key. In fact, once you get the timming down you can throw the same ammo type and not have to change Numbers unless you want to.
