I just got my level 20 notoriety. Where do you have to go to begin the grenade quest?

Wow, thats a really good guide. I get very low rep, even on a level forty. I get anywhere between 20-50 (50 if im lucky!)

I meant, where do I go to receive my first objective of the quest, so I can track the ray of light...

You have a nice guide but i think it needs some updates.
Now that fire causes more damage you can't even use it
to get good rep. You would need alot of smoke.

Once you hit Notoriety 20 you should get a quest to visit Jack Sparrow to unlock the grenades i think, check your journal and track it there. After that you're told you look in MANY crates at Kingshead and other forts.

This was super helpful when I was on Kinghead. My new character just got from lvl 10 - lvl 22 nades at 12230/13600 pts into Notoriety Lvl 23. I thought I was gonna be stuck at level 21 nades hitting Not.level 24 coz I ended up going to sink the EITC ship for coal....thought it was gonna be easy....NOT, it was the 10th EITC ship I sunk that got the coal!! And I ended up having to heal my friend who was my bodyguard thru Kinghead, so that was more pts added lol...but somehow I made it thru. Yay!

When they went green leveled to me, I tried 5 stinkpots, 10 smokebombs, x-firebombs until the KH vets died. I know thats a lot of smokebombs, but when I got to lvl 17, I brought the bag/barrel thing that lets u carry 40 of them. At green leveled, they were giving me 40 rep each kill. At grey leveled, using the same method, I got 20 rep.

As for dealing with other players that come...well some came, saw me, & teleported to a different server. Others came & started throwing nades right after I throw my stinkpot to draw them close.

So what do I do? I whip out my Siege Charge that I threw 5 pts into, & threw them at the Vets...hahaha the Vets die after 2 or 3 of them, before any of the rep stealers can actually successfully do any damage. And just like magic, they all leave when they see that they can't get any rep since I'm using Seige hahaha.

Edit: LOL made the daily leaderboard for Enemies Defeated, #17 with 1374 kills using mostly nades. I did kill a couple with dagger tho, but it was only like 5.

Edit (again): Yay I finally mastered my nades, I was about 6300 pts of the 16100 into lvl 25 notoriety.

Lizzy will be 300 b4 she masters nades...Never make a professional Baseball team that's for sure...Notoriety 36 but sad to say nades are only 8...oops! Dont use them becuz she cant aim them...Embarassin but true...Have to spend alot of time at KH in the near future...Prolly the only pirate that ever died from concussion syndrome from throwin nades at navy...ROLF

I'm working on my second pirate, and I remember what a pain it was on my first pirate, James Lockpaine, to get maxed grenades. The entire way through th game I decided to keep all my weps at the same level, but my friends persisted I knocked grenades out of the way. So when I got my weapons all to level 20, I just maxed out my grenades.

Until today, I have never seen this guide, and I just finished maxing my grenades last night on my level 26 (was level 25.5 at the time) and I did it almost the exact same way.

ive found now wat u can do is go to the backside of padres and fight raider boss but instead of walking up to him u go close enough he will pull out sword and use a combo of rapidly pressing ctrl and clicking the ammo u use (fire, smoke, and any other one of that effect like stink pot) (DONT USE EXPLOSIVE OR SEIGE WHATEVER U DO!!!) and enjoy ur rep (also, well the rapid combo plz dont use long volley it wont work)

YES! this is the method i've used from level 20 - 23 (current). I decided to try to see if i could get from level 22 to 23 in one day with nades so i killed deakheart 47 times yesterday to do it! whatta grind!...boring yes, but felt good when i got there.

so, i only have to kill him 103 more time to master nades!

well went to kingshead to level grenades and discovered something disturbing. no matter where i was standing i could not get the veterans to NOT cross the fence and come at me.

it appears to me that they have fixed this to where the veterans can (depending how close you are to the end of the fence) either run around the fence and come after you or just walk right thru the fence and come after you.

either way unless there is something bad wrong with my account, it seems that kingshead is no longer the worry free rep/gold machine it once was.

any one else notice this?

re: kingshead...i got around this by lining up the veterans between my pirate and the main entrance. stand back just a bit and lob a grenade into the center of them. then start backing up and lob another. you can usually get two in before they start hitting you. continue to back up and try to aim at their chests until they've been eliminated.

in the early stages of leveling my health got pretty low and i needed to occasionally use a tonic but it's a good method for earning lots of rep...if you don't mind flirting with dying.
