The Guild Circuit
I tried to come up with a sytem like this a while ago, but couldn't at that time. Now, however, I have come up with one! Now, here goes:
1. This requires trustworthy people. I'll add people to this list only at the Guildmaster-in-charge's consent. 2. This requires people who can keep a secret. This is a follow-up of requirement #1 I guess. 3. This requires folk non-ambitious, or folks who don't care as much for guild stature, for you most likely won't be an officer anywhere. 4. This requires pirates that aren't Guildmasters, as they be folk who are needed in their respective guilds (yet it for the most part requires Guilmasters: read all for clarification). Now, The Guild Circuit is an organization as such that isn't bound to one guild. We're founded on POF; you'd have to go here to be a member. Moreso, we're founded on POF-guilds: as a trust-insurer (but not a full assurer), you only join if your Guildmaster allows you to do so, and, furthermore, only if your Guildmaster submits the guild to be a portion of The Guild Circuit. Now, why the need for secrecy? Well, if trusted, the Guildmaster will allow you to join this Circuit after joining his/her guild to the Circuit. I'll then add you as a GM-approved member of the circuit, as well as whomever gave you the reccomendation. I'll leave other GMs that are a member of The Guild Circuit to provide codes. What codes? Unlimited Invite codes. GMs will give the members of this Circuit that they trust codes, so they can join at any time, and leave at any time. They will announce to this page whom they've given codes; and, if at any time, this fails to work for them, they will suspend their codes and announce so, removing them from the Circuit simply because they cannot be joined. Even I will be out of the know as to what the codes are, unless I as a member of this Circuit (which ain't likely seeing as no one stands to reccomend me) am given a code. Why join? Well, for one, if you're a member in a guild, this expands you to be a member of others without losing any stature in yours. If your guild is inactive while you're on, or smply just not on, you can hop onto anothers. If you have friends in another, you can simply go and meet their guilds. If you want to try another guild, you can simply do so without losing membership in yours. __________________________________________________ ______________ Now, how to do all this? First, for GMs: ~1: Create an Unlimited Code ~2: Tell me that you wanted to be added to the Circuit ~3: If I add you, make certain to give members of your guild that you approve to join the Circuit the code, and make sure they keep quiet. ~4: Give people of the Circuit that are not in your guild but that you trust and don't mind hopping in your code. (~As well, if your code fails, as in, people who you didn't give a code to are suddenly joining or something of the like, it will be a seventh duty to terminate the code.) ~5: Announce any change noteworty to The Guild Circuit. ~6: Warn me, League, of any people whom you fear might be abusing codes or revealing them. For people who wish to join the Circuit: ~1: Make sure your guild is a member of The Guild Circuit. ~2: Ask me to join: I'll make sure that the Guildmaster approves you joining. ~3: Ask your Guildmaster for his/her reusable code, to end up where you started when done hopping. Now, all this works because power remains with joined Guildmasters. They can keep in control who has their codes; they can drop people who they didn't want joined; they can keep members as members, leaving people of the Circuit as just people of the Circuit; they can keep the trust with the trustworty; and, if need be, they can suspend their codes, similarily suspending action with the Circuit. __________________________________________________ ______________ Joined Guilds & Guildmasters: The Mandalorians--The Skirata Clan (Darman Skirata) Approved by The Skirata Clan: Approved by (insert name here-original trusted members of a guild will be listed up top, and with an asterick): Approved by (insert name here-original trusted members of a guild will be listed up top, and with an asterick): Approvable Pirates (Internet Alias and Pirate Names of All Hoppers): Oh, a couple of things: One, if you're a member, try to list the names of your pirates, so Guildmasters know the aliases of all hoppers; and two, try to end up in the guild you started out in when you log out, if it just simply requres leaving and redeeming your code once more. Three, keep codes to yourself; four, you want to keep any code you have that is currently active in memory and in storage, in case the memory part fails. Sweet niblets that was fast! Make sure to surely make an unlimited invite code.
As well, I'll include in this post all Hopper Guilds: these are guilds to join at leisure when any pirate is on, usually for the purpose of accomplishing some purpose. For example, I might join one when the Guildmaster comes on, leave when he leaves, etc., all for making money, which he has dedicated his Hopper Guild to do. Hopper Guilds are all for the point of a purpose. Anyone can join at any given time, anyone can leave. This involves having a reusable invitation code provided always. A Hopper Guild is one benefit a hopper has, simply because he can always return to his/her normal guild whenever he/she wants. The Wily Willies (not formed as of yet) --League Code: -- Guildmaster: The Inestimable League This is a combat guild, or at least it will be. We're gonna fight in all sorts of ways, for the purport of fun. With the skill redistribution, we're gonna be the wackiest fighting force on the seas. When you want to be, of course. VILLA IMPERATORIS--League Code: AYES2434 Guildmaster: The Imperious Pascus This is a money-making guild, for riches are to abound when you enter... The House of The Emporer! Granted, my pirate is not exactly there yet, so eh. Once the doll is obtained though, I'll be a guest to any who want to throw grenades in Kingshead but are unable to use the fence. (A Hopper Guild needs no officers, and works mainly well when you friend the GM to be instantly alerted when they come on. If the GM is friended with other Hoppers, he can essentially meet others and hop him/herself to other guilds when there is nothing to do.) If you want to make a Hopper Guild, PM me the name of the guild, the name of the guildmaster, and the code, as well as any description you'd like paired with it. Keep it to yourself mate: you don't want to reveal it to me, unless, of course, you trust me. I haven't even made a pirate with whom I'd jump guilds yet. And even if you would reveal it to me, you still wouldn't want to reveal it publicly.
Via PM: the way to reveal all is to reveal in secret. |

Intreaguing, but I have one small issue. I don't want unlimited invite codes for my guild out there and I like to check people out before they join my guild, as do my officers.
With griefers out there who like to sneak in under the radar and delete members as soon as they become officers I would have a difficult time combatting that in these circumstances. I think it's a novel idea, but am concerned about the shortfalls.

Well, glad you raised objections, because I believe they're worked out: first, you decide whether or not you'll even allow your guild to join the Circuit; second, your POF guild (or one of them if more than one) has to be joined to the Circuit for you to be a hopper; third, codes may be deleted, suspended, etc. at any fear of a guildmaster; fourth, hoppers aren't able to be anything more than members of various guilds; fifth, hoppers can only be kept out of a guild at the will of a guildmaster, as they can just rejoin under all circumstances save a code be suspended; sixth, The Guild Circuit runs on a trust-system, so bad members won't be members long of the Circuit.
If you read the first post, you'll see joined guilds: only one, and that being The Mandalorians. That means that a reusable code exists to get in. Know it? Probably not--even I don't. Only The Skirata Clan knows it. Now, since he's the only guild linked here, only members of his guild can join the circuit. They can only join with his approval. If they want to join, and if they're approved by him, they'll become members. He then merely gives them his code, which they are to keep secret. If it seems to be that people are just joining, he can suspend that code and give me suspicions, and I can blacklist members. Hoppers don't have the ability to promote themselves: only the guildmaster can do that. All they have power to do is reveal a given code: but a guildmaster has power even over the code. It all works rather well. Now then, you can give anyone who's approved by someone else whom you trust the code to get into your guild. Say some other guild was joined: The Skirata Clan could give any of those members his code, and their names would be put under his list. Last edited by League; 11-10-2008 at 03:50 PM.. |

Ok, officail that is a real system from the mediveil ages called a league... following exactly almost-- Any way, i have my own league called L.O.W. (the League Of War). Mine is the first because i started making it in around april. Alot of the guilds in it went inactive, but im still recruiting. I belive your the second group of guilds together- infact i talked about making one in january, but your the first ive heard of in pirates online. Your group and mine can join up. Mine uses a wordpress site and this sometimes at http://kora12.wordpress.com/.
yours and mine can allie, plus i get about 25 hits a day on my web blog, so if i blog roll yours or add yours you will get more people. Although i dont wish to become an offcail only one league, or either of us be better than the other. So I guess we follow our own rules. Usully i skim through these posts, because the're not well written, so i wrote this one causuly well. |

Hmm, how'd I miss that reply... anyway, I'm as of now workin on a response!
(Some time later) Well, err, The Guild Circuit sort of is an idea for no single small purpose, but really is an idea to encompass every idea for every guild possible. Say I wanted to sail, level my cannon and what not: I'd just jump to that guild equipped and ready to do so. The idea is to just be always on with an active guild at that moment, without sacrificing space, ties, friends, etc., yet doing so all in a reliable manner kept under check. I'm sure a PvP and/or SvS guild would have a very purposeful role in the Circuit, and more than one would be excellent as, respectively, you could make a guild of allies and have a guild or guilds of enemies. Having able-bodied people to fight with or against would be a very effective system, but such is not the purpose for the Circuit alone. (On a different note, a true friend system isn't exactly a neccesary part of the Circuit, but it does make for a moer-functioning one, as you could tell if a potential guildmaster is on, if he/she has a hopper on, if he/she is off period, etc.) |
