Your officers have worked together to steal these general guild guidelines which we would like to see as you play the game. These are brought up so that everyone in the guild can enjoy the game together.
Credit to Grace Wildrage for pilfering and shamelessly altering these guidelines with permission from StacySeaMonkey of the Seafurys. Although we be pirates, there are certain common courtesy guidelines that should be used while playing the game. We are a guild that likes to have fun and do not want to set up all sorts of rules that must be followed. However, your officers would ask that each of you read these guidelines and try to follow them as closely as you can. If you know of any other items you would like to add, or are having any problems during the game, please speak with an officer. We are all here to help! GENERAL COMMENTS Please keep in mind that you will not hear responses from people at times. This is because they are either in battle, away from their keyboards (sometimes just leaving a character there as a placeholder), type is being filtered, or people can’t type as fast. Game chat is not an appropriate place for rants, complaints and negative comments and should be kept out of chats in game. If you need to express complaints, you can contact an officer. Please do not request to become an officer. True leaders are recognized on their own merits, and not given rank because they requested it or used self promotion. GUILD CHAT, LOCAL CHAT, CREW CHAT AND WHISPERS For general announcements to all Guild members use Guild Chat. For a small group of people having a conversation or chatting during battle use crew chat feature. Local chat can be used when speaking to people near you, everyone in the area can read it. To tell one person something, use the whisper feature. Sometimes whisper doesn’t work and goes out to the world by mistake. Just say, oops or wrong chat. SAILING To acquire a crew, ask in guild chat if anyone wants to join you. To join a ship already at sea, whisper to the captain asking if you may board his/her ship. Once on board, do not shoot unless you have asked or been told the target. If you need something specific to complete your quest, whisper to the captain, politely asking if they can go after what you need. CREWS Make sure that everyone fighting/sailing together is crewed so you may use Crew Chat feature to discuss maneuvers. Be sure that you, as Captain of the ship, clearly state expectations so the crew members know the goals of the adventure. Be sure that your actions are helping and not hindering the goal of the group. FOLLOWING OR TELEPORTING TO OTHERS It is always polite to whisper to your friend first to ask where they are and if you can join them, before Teleporting or following them. They may be in the middle of battle or working on something they want to do alone. They may be on the ship of another pirate and it would be rude of you to show up unannounced. ASKING FOR HELP Before asking for help make sure that you have bought tonic. Try at least twice to defeat the enemy or accomplish the task on your own. When asking for help in Guild Chat make sure that you type in what quest you are working on, what island and what world you are in and what your target/task is. If you are working on a task that requires you to be in a certain place, i.e., Thieves Den, Brigands, try to be near your goal. If you are unsure where you need to go, just ask in guild chat. If some one is available they will come to you. There may not always be some one available. Ask for help, do not demand it. You can ask for a healer to help you defeat a higher level enemy, but do not shout “HEAL ME NOW” SAY THANK YOU If you receive help, take the time to say Thank You. PAY IT FORWARD If you receive help, give help to some one else. This is the nature of the Bad to the Bonez guild. Last edited by Chris; 09-23-2008 at 03:45 AM.. |
