Greetings - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

Hello All. I've been a lurker for a while - feel some posts coming on so I thought I'd go ahead and sign in officially. I'm a father of two, have been playing POTC for a few months now (thanks to my sons), and am about to the point of starting my second pirate. I played TT for a couple of years (again, thanks to my sons), so this is only my second foray into MMORPGs. My namesake pirate is lvl 34, all skills between 16-21, and has little left to do but finish the Pearl and level (hence the thoughts of second pirate). He is currently unguilded, but not antisocial. I've been in a couple of guilds, but they just weren't for me. I like to help, like to sail, shoot, fight, etc - I just don't like being ordered about. Really irritating. And - no offense - constant chatter about what type of cell phone you have or what song is on the top 40, or who is "marrying" who is just distracting - my kids may like it, but I get tired.

I've gotten some good tips from these forums - I feel like I know some of you already.

Lol John. You have been in the wrong guilds. I don't think English Pirates have ever chatted about marriage or cell phones

Ahoy John, and welcome aboard. If you're ever looking for a guild to join, there is a thread listing guilds that are recruiting on here.

Welcome to the game!

I actually changed my Guild due to off topic chatter... more accurately - created my own Guild.

I think Guilds work best when populated with members who are close to the same age - ours is a mainly adult Guild, so we don't see alot of off-topic chatter for the most part, and if it heads that direction the officers usually send a gentle reminder for the chatters to crew up for personal chat.

Hope you enjoy the game, and if you see any members of the Umbrella Academy out there, tell them Nelly told you to say Hi!

My name is League, or, at least it is on the internet, (it's really a last name alias of sorts) and I have no cell phone, don't know any of the top 40 songs, and only know of one wedding in particular going on.
