Hi, I'm new to the boards and to the game. Have lots of questions. First one is - "How do you get started?" Thanks in advance.

Getting started is pretty straight forward...it's the being able to quit that's the tricky part.

Welcome and I agree its over whelming at first. The game is essentiallly one huge quest for your pirate. You will encounter lots of enemies and need to earn things to fight them and build your skills.

My first advice is read the hints. Each section of this forum has questions and answers, or I really recomend going to the WIKI and I also found the players guide on POTCO main page to offer some help to me. Its way to much to learn and read at once. Take it a little at a time. Lucky your pirate has a cheat of sorts when you start so you can move some forward. When you started Pirates it had to visit someone right? (Its been a while so Im forgetting that now) Anyway if you put the tracker thing on your task list to what your doing it will show you where to go with a yellow arrow and I think before that you have a floor arrow to follow. Read what the notebook tells you. You are going to get some basic weapons at first.

For now learn to follow that green thing on the floor and then the arrow on the compus when you get it and do what the game says. The quests get harder but for now they will be simple.

It took me 5 days to become incurrably hooked on the game. Thats when I found I had to upgrade because I couldnt do things I wanted until I did. Have fun questiong anf making a pirate!!

You seem to be started as to the boards, and I deeply wonder as to how (and why) you're here if you haven't as of yet started... regardless, greetings!

As to an answer, I suppose you've made an account. You'll actually need to download the game, and, then as you would any application, you go from there.
