Stop the Rising Red on the High Seas
Methinks the Royal Navy feels a bit left out of the action lately. Have ye noticed?
Since all the scuttlebutt on Padres del Fuego recently, there's been a keen increase in Navy patrols on the high seas - no doubt seeking new and nefarious means to keep us prosperous Pirates under their imperial thumb. Last month we saw the green tides clear from our blue seas; now let's rid ourselves of some red as well, savvy? Starting this Friday, April 19 through the end of Sunday, April 21, we challenge all Pirates to take to the seas and clear as many Navy ships as ye can! Once the weekend competition is over and we've tallied the results, we’ll award the top 50 Pirates who sank the most Navy ships over the entire three-day challenge: All 50 winners will each win an all-new, Legendary sailing item plundered from the Navy command itself: Commodore Norrington's Spyglass The top 15 winners who blast the most Navy ships from the water will also receive 2 weeks of complimentary Unlimited Access! ![]() Bounty Hunter ships in the direct employ of the Navy (the En-Garde, Tally-Ho, and Battle Royale) count towards yer winning numbers too, mates, as well as the Navy's Ship of the Line and Goliath. NOTE: Prizes will be awarded through e-mail. Make sure your e-mail address is current on the Pirate’s account you’re competing with by clicking here! What: Sink The Most Navy Ships When: Friday, April 19 thru Sunday, April 21 Where: On the high seas wherever Navy ships are sighted |

That explains the double fleet I just saw. And I want that spyglass. So I know what I'll be doing all weekend...

LOL You saw it too? I don't think that was intentional. Program is buggy.

I want it just to have more Red in my Inventory. I might just waist my time clicking my mouse all day to try to get top 50.

Yeah, that's only happened two or so other times in the game's history. I once dealt with a Navy and EITC Fleet at the same time (only got the Navy Fleet though). It's fun when the game screws up like that, but I don't find it to be a bad glitch. Rather beneficial in adding to the challenge, if you ask me. I need that sailing item. I really need it. For once, I'm going to participate in this event. Or at least try to! |

Hope you guys dont mind me saying, but I'll be getting this Legendary along with others on my ship cause sinking the Navy is my job.
On the other hand I feel and sense this is going to lead right upto the fall of Padres Del Fuego |

Not too many actually participated for the last ship contest. This one might bring out a bunch of pros who know how to sink ships non-stop as a guild. I'll be happy just getting the item. At least I'll still be playing the game and using the thing. The others will probably just leave and go back to playing something else. POTCO will have to do something more than giving free goodies and teasers of 'what ifs' to get them to subscribe.

I might not have the most time to do it, but I'll try! But it'll be really hard, so no one else should try it. o.o

lol don't you just love seeing those maxed war class ships picking on Navy light class ships all around Devils?
On the bright side, it's nice to see that POTCO performed maintenance after reading my feedback. Bravo! |

I thought the competition would be a bit easier because of the low activity, but apparently some people have returned to the game just to get the spyglass. I spent 8+ hours yesterday plundering, and... I just barely broke the top 200. I guess the only way to even make the top 50 is to spend the next straight 48 hours picking off baby ships in Windward Passage, but I don't think I have the time to do that. Plus there's at least fifteen ships there already...

I just looked at the numbers. I can assure you that those are not all Navy ships they sank. They simply sank whatever was floating to discourage anyone from continuing the competition. Don't! Keep going! Sail around Devils if you want and hit the small ships. Just do it.
Also, I'm not seeing fully manned ships. Maybe two gunners at most and that is rare. Most are players sailing their own ships and don't be surprised that he/she has their ship packed with every alt they've got from their numerous accounts. Even if there are only three guys sailing it, each one can put 3 more pirates from 3 accounts to pack a war brig or war frig and get 4 of those Norrington's for themselves. I would like 50 people listed as winners, not just 20 who got more than one for themselves. I think POTCO will have no choice but to let everybody else who participated to get one too. |

Well that was a blast. Gotta love those runtime errors, black screens, and disconnects when porting every three hours of plundering. And how about those hunters chasing every ship for sinking one too many navy ships here and there? LOL! The ocean was littered with stranded hunters and even a tub or two [yeah, what was I thinking when I went after a live tub]. Some of us decided to clean it up to keep the server at optimal levels.
Congrats to all who participated. You all deserve that Norrington.
