Staff advice a must read

When you get your staff follow the following hints and you can level it much faster and get alot more gold and notoriety as well

1. Do nothing but level your staff til you reach level 31 once you reach 31 all rep and gold will be cut in half or even greater

2. do not spend any pts on any of the skills til you reach lvl 3

3. at lvl 3 or maybe its 4 when you unlock wither put all the points you earned so far on wither

4. once you get wither you are ready to go to kingshead and take on the big mob of 7 guys in the middle do nothing but this til lvl 31 in notoriety is reached and it will go fast just remember to let your voodoo fill up and your health come back before taking on a new mob

5. once you level high enough to get flaming skull put 1 point and only 1 point on it

6. do not spend any more of your points until you reach level 15 this will allow you to get alot more rep

7. use flaming skull on a mob to bring them to you then use wither you will get more rep for using the skull but since it uses so much voodoo switch to wither

8. once you reach notoriety 31 and if you have hex shot proceed to isla tormenta and fight molusks and brinescum only for wa while (may need to take some help at 1st for the redbeards) this will probably require a new tutorial (not yet posted by anyone).

I actually don't agree with all of this.

Level 1-4 the same way you leveled grenades, at the kingshead fence on the navy pack. A few pulls of the packs will ding you level 4.

Only unlock 1 point in wither until you're finished grinding the kingshead pack. 1 wither is more than enough to handle the pack without dieing. It's always best to bring a healer friend with you if you're short on hp though. Farm these until they're grey.

As soon as the voodoo regen unlocks, push it up to 5 points. This is godsend for the staff and has a noticeable increase in voodoo per tick.

1 point flaming skull and find a grind spot you'd consider worth it. I'd suggest the wall crack in tormentia where you can just farm away but if you'd rather do it legit you can find a camp of 2-3 yellow to red mobs and pull them to you with flaming skull and polish them off with rank 1 wither.


I leveled my staff from 1-25 in a days time with this method.

yea only apply 1 sp on wither if not it does too much damage and u get less rep
