A tough decision. - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

Ahoy mates, as some of you may know over the past month or so I have been less and less active in POTCO, this is in part because of stress in real life and general lack of free time, but beyond that I've become very whats the word.... washed out with POTCO.. it used to be that when I logged on and saw all the caps spam greeting from my guildies I would feel happy inside and want to hang out with them all day despite the lack of things to do in the game but now it seems for some reason that isn't enough motivation to log on anymore. there are very few things to do.. so few that I can count them on my fingers and all of them require investing time to do them and none of them are exciteing enough to me anymore to devote my time to it...

So with these things in mind I have made a very tough decison... I have decided that when school starts in about a week I will be taking a break from POTCO and the forums. I want to make it clear I do intend to return at some point I am not severing any ties or leaving guilds. The shadow Sorceror's are my family many of you know the devotion and work I put into this guild and you are my family I love you all like my brothers and sisters which makes this decision very difficult. and PNC you are some of my best friends not just in the game but some of you (you know who you are) have been there for me through some of the toughest times in my life and I truely Love you for that and I will never forget it!

my hope is by taking this break it will give me time to regain control of who I am.. not Dog Gunmorgan , not Dog O'fury
not captain gunmorgan... ME the person behind the screen. I need time to focus on my real life and as we always say RL is ALWAYS first.

I would hope that when I decide to come back I will be able to step back into my position in the COS and would like to think I earned that right.

Remember mates this isn't good bye I will be coming back but I feel it is nessessary to take a break and sort my self out.

Aye i understand Dog this has been happening to me and sometimes i have to take a break, from potco, i have done this many times but i always come back. But i know how it feels to be not motivatied to come online. But when you come back it will be like when you first played pirates. I hope you would all try this at some point in this game it really helps to enjoy the game and still be the person that you really are.

I understand.

Dog, you are a HUGE reason I joined the SS, for I was hoping it had more people like you.
And you are one of the very first friends I made on POF too.

But if you need to take a break to focus on real life, then I COMPLETELY understand :')

But let me just say you are the most loyal Dog I have ever met, and are certified AWESOME.

Dog,

I have known you for December, but it seems like a lot longer. During the time I've known you, I've not only gained a wonderful officer for the Shadow Sorcerors, but an even better friend. Through good times and bad, laughs and sobs, you've always been their for me, and know that I'll always be there for you. While we've never met, I think that you and I have that special relationship that comes not too often, especially between people who have never met. Not a dog and (guild)master relationship (just had to do that), but two friends.

There is so much I want to say, but cannot express in words to you Dog. You will always be remembered by the Sorcerors, me, and everyone else. You've done more for me than most others in the Caribbean. You've helped me learn a lot about myself, a lot of things I may have never learned before.

Thank you Dog, and good luck in your travels. Hopefully I'll see you again soon.

thank you so much for allowing me to do what I've done in the sorcerors. it is like my family as I've said and it is an honor to be where I am. and as you said you are more then my (guild) master. despite the fact that we have never met and likely never will, you are my friend.

and to everyone who has commented here I want to say that I appreciate your support more then you will ever know. hopefully after a month or so off maybe a nice update or two will come along and give me more motivation to log on.

as I said my break will begin when school starts which I believe is September 3(?) until then I will be online attending events and what not as always but after that I will not be in game or here on the forums however if you have my Xfire I will still be there ( not as much though) and you can feel free to talk to me there any time.

Alright mates here is an official update. As of Friday September 2nd I will no longer be logging on to POTCO or the forums until I feel the time is right to come back. I may pop in and out as a guest from time to time but I will not be logging on. again if you have me on xfire I will still be there.

hopefully after a month or so an update or two will come to potco and when I choose to come back I'll have some new things to experience and that will spark my interest in the game again.
