Padres Sergeant Did Not Disengage!?!

Last night, I teleported to Padres and landed (as I frequently do) on the field in front of Fort Dundee. Since my purpose was to board my ship, I ran past the Navy Sergeant who patrols in front of Gunner's Cabin and down to the dock to the left of the shipwright.

You can imagine my surprise when, just as I was about to launch my ship, I received a blow from behind. Exiting the launch screen, I turned around and discovered that the Sergeant had followed me all the way down the hill to the dock!

I have never had that happen before, as he has always disengaged from pursuit when he reached the little bridge in front of the shipwright.

I figured it was a glitch and quickly forgot about it. Later on, however, upon leaving the Fort Dundee jail, I ran past him again to the shipwright for repairs. Sure enough, he followed me right to the shipwright's counter and began striking at me again.

Unless this was a twice-in-one-night bug, I'm guessing that PotCO has changed the "Disengage" parameters for this character. Has anybody else experienced a similar change with other enemies? If they make changes in how far enemies will follow to attack you, it could have quite an effect on some areas in the game.

Lately I've seen him at the shipwright many times. Not sure when it changed.

I've never had him chase me all the way to the dock, but he always follows me all the way up to the shipwright's counter

Tonight enemies chased us from the center of Beckets Quarry from under the overhead bridge thing all the way to the cave entrance. That's a long way.
