Yes and no.
It gives people a quest to do of sorts because they really want,say,Thunderspine.So we get more people playing the game.
However.
The enemies in this game are now ridiculously easy.I've read stories of people soloing the Colossus flagship with a light sloop.That's ridiculous.

I, for some weird reason... did not like them. It limited Basics more. Caused more stress ETC.

Most people's first instinct is to go with yes. But after you think about it... im going to say...no. I mean, as WeirdBeard said, they created so much stress on people to get this all-so-important stuff. I mean come on.. is a weapon that has a red tag REALLY that important? Think about it. This game was meant to have fun, yet the POTCO staff have seriously limited the having fun part to just 8 hours slaving away at Tormenta to get a weapon. I mean sure an Emerald Curse would be nice... but it isnt that important. There is more to it then attacking Davy Jones's crew. They certaintly wont thank you for it.

Well, I think it's a great update. A lot of people (back in the old days) would quit the game after they mastered, because there was nothing left to do. Now, once people are maxed, they can still loot. That brings Disney a lot more money because less people are quitting because there is nothing to do.

By now a lot of you have probably seen my "A nasty encounter" thread. You would how those people were so desperate for loot that they one shot killed all my enemies with a blunderbuss out of selfishness. Granted, these people were pretty huge jerks anyway, but it was obvious that these people were crazy for loot.

The moral? The new weapon update is great. I personally like it a lot. It gives me a reason to go and fight bosses and other enemies. Not to mention with the new weapons came some pretty clothes... Unfortunately, lots of people go overboard with this and become so loot hungry that they force people to get out of their area and will do anything (griefing included) to get their hands on a few red pixels.

Its a good update. I think it was smart of POTCO to do it. Unfortunately, it has its downs. Its not really a yes or no to me.
