POTCO - more complex, or do you like it simple?
Title says all. Would you like it more complex, like POBTS with tons of quests and islands, or simple, like it is now.
When i say complex, i don't mean it so complex that its boring, with a, say, Naval combat system that was exactly like it in RL, 300 years ago, with wind and all? I mean stuff like a blocking system for swords, (I'll get into that later) so its more exiting, not just *CLICK*CLICK*CLICK* Maybe weather, things like assassination quests, where you'd have to back stab a boss with out being seen (the boss would die in one hit, of you do everything right) So, what do you say? And i don't mean these exact suggestions, just setting an example (though it would be cool for these things to happen) |

For the most part, I think that what they have right now should stay about the same level of complexity. Although I would really like it if they added more complicated quests, such as ones with riddles and you need to find a certain item, assassinate a boss like you said, steal something from Kingshead Keep and get back without being noticed. I think the main thing they need to make more complex is quests. I really don't like all these quests saying "Go kill them and magically get this." or John Smith's infamous filler quest "I'm hungry! Get me twenty Giant Crabs!" I really want some quests that will make me think, challenge not just my ability to click buttons, but to think, although they may not make this very challenging because it would "frustrate the kids." The weather idea would be good too, as it would add a bit of a challenge to sailing, so you would need to be careful where you sailed. Another I'd like to see is in addition to our simple enemies, we have stronger enemies that involve special fighting skills, sort of similar to fighting a Legendary Fish.
I don't want to fill up too much space, because I know I'll start going off topic. But yes, I would like to see some complexity added to the game. Just a bit, you know? Something to challenge my wits a bit. Let's keep what we have mostly the same, but lets build onto it. |

Oh, and i'd like to point something out - a i knew a guy who was probably a kid who left the game when he was level 50 and had all famed weapons. I'm sure if we had better quests and everything else you said, people like him would have stayed.

I wouldn't like it to be complex, because I want it to stay fun and simple. That saying, I don't mean that this game shouldn't have more complex quests, like mentioned above. It would be cool to have quests where you have to solve riddles and such, and that would be the kind of 'complexity' this game could use, but definitely not as complex as POTBS.

A more complex PvP system would be interesting.... perhaps different landscapes, or ways to use different combat skills

Honestly, I think POTCO does need to be a bit more complex.. It would make things more fun and interesting.

POTCO doesn't have much to do after you master and complete all the quests. We need more minor quests that give you items and rep. The fighting system is alright, and if it was any more complex I think we'll have players leaving the game in frustration. Blocking attacks sounds great! It certainly beats running around like a noob to make the enemy miss.
Davy saying about something to challenge his wits made me think... we could have some quests involving puzzles and clues to find a secret area. Like Raven's Cove and the elevator key. You start the quest with an NPC, and they give you a clue. You go to the area that you think is the answer, and the next clue has already spawned there, until you find the last clue for a dig spot, dig there, and the entrance to a new area appears. Fun? Sort of makes you think of the Feats Of Strength... |

I think that they should have a little bit more. (After all, I still get lost in Kingshead sometimes :O)
I think that the Navy and EITC should be out and about more. I mean, all they do is go on a few ships, and stay in forts or caves. I think the Navy should be more active, and a couple more islands. (One TP island, and 2-3 wild islands.) |

I think they should put a boss on Tortuga beach. That'll teach the Abassers...

I think it should be simple at the start, and as you progress in the game, quests, enemies and bosses get harder.
