To start, you want to have a few members on POF. Most people want to see that you have active members in the guild posting on your thread. GOOD posts, mind you. Ones that can make your guild look active and fun, not spammy posts. This way people will also have a guild thread to post to and they can know what their friends are up to here.
Also, post EVERYTHING your guild does that is worth mentioning. If you had a party, post screenshots. If you leveled up, post a screenshot. Screenshots are very good for showing activity. You should also post some events here. They don't have to be too big. Shadow Sorcerors sometimes does much smaller events such as our Weekly Raids. To sum it up, show lots of activity in your guild, and get its members to register here. That should help a lot. |

The members - like Davy said, have some members active on POF. I'd be attracted to a guild whose members have thoughtful, helpful, or entertaining things to say.

The reason we're doing pretty well is I got some of my friends from my main guild (PNC) on mini pirates, and from there we have weekly meetings and activity sessions. Just making it clear that we do NOT get members easily, but hopefully in the near future we are a successful, strong guild. Good luck to your guild, mate!

aye, Captain Monkeys. we are building the guild.
Emerald Regiment, my guild on my main Pirate, did very well and got 200 members in the first 2 or 3 months. i have no idea how Blade did it, but, in Emerald now, we look for good members around the Caribbean, and ask them to join the guild if they seem nice and we trust 'em. a good place might be Tormenta, there ye can spend a while with a pirate and see if they are nice and would like to be in the guild. I hope this helped, Hector (or Capin Otter) |

Its very hard nowadays to create a guild on Pirates Online. I am hoping this will change. New players will hopefully come with the new movie. new players need older experianced mentors which is where guilds come in. I am hoping that many come with the new movie. O'fury's Court is in need of some new ones too.. even though we are standing at 300 most are very high level and its becoming easy since we have a ratio of about 20 old players to every 1 new player.

2nd you need to tell people what your guld is all about. Tell them what ranks you use, how to rank up, rules ( VERY important ), events etc. People won't just join a guild because you ask them to. 3rd get some members in the game and ask them to join POF to advertise the guild for you. Or get some members from POF and ask them to advertise. No one wants to join a guild that has only 1 person supporting it. Using those 3 tips is a start, but you'll get even better help from experienced Guildmasters like Captain Del, Captain Monkeys etc. |

I'm not REALLY too experienced of a Guildmaster, I've just learned how to lead a guild by observing Del's actions, and being an Officer in PNC.

I'm going to be perfectly honest - I have absolutely no idea on how to make my guild "seem better" than others.
You can't rely on appeal when it comes to making your guild flourish on this site. If you work so hard to make your guild seem like it's perfect, but neglect actually making your guild as amazing as it seems, all you're going to develop is a hollow guild. It's like your guild will be a fashion model, pretty on the outside yet dead on the inside. Before you can make your guild appeal to others, step back and ask yourself if the guild ITSELF has appeal. If does, great. If it doesn't - well, concern yourself on that. All I'm saying is, don't let your image get in the way of your guild's personality. Just let everything about your guild flow out freely and how it should be - don't hold punches, don't have regrets, and remember that you're never gonna have a flag better than the one that you have over your head. And I guarentee you, if you let your guild spill out as it should, then everything will work out in the end. |

I'm not sure if it is an appeal either. I joined my guide, Pixie Pyrates because a number us already knew each other from Pixie Hollow so that is helpful.
But alas, good luck with your guild and lots o' plundering too! |
