do you get to keep your pirate if you upgrade?

is it true that if you upgrade your potco account, then you have to start over with a new pirate and you cant use the one you have been using?

ok, did you also get to keep all your gold, skills, etc?
i just heard from some people that if you upgrade then you lost all your stuff

As has been said in at least a half dozen other threads on this very topic, You do not lose anything with full account upgrade. Period. You keep every character and every item you have AND you get more exp per kill, the ability to view full screen with no ads, the ability to use all skills, and the ability to do more quests and finish the main ones.
