Sea or Land?

Lately, I've been noticing the differences between Sea or Land.

So, which do you prefer combat on: Sea or Land?


Here's how I see it.

Sea- No matter what Notoriety level you are, the ships you fight match your sailing or cannon level. You don't require too much help to fight low level ships as a low level.

Land- You are limited to your notoriety and weapon level. If you are, say, Level 10 Notoriety with Level 10 Sword, you cannot fight a Level 35 without dying quickly, as your health is low from your Notoriety, and your Sword is too weak to fight it.


This is just my take - please share what you think.

I like fighting on land, as you can get a lot of epic battles. Plus it's just fun.

I'm a good captain on land, but not a good one at sea. So they are kinda opposites for me.

LAND definitely. I always feel like there is alot more to do on land than at sea.

I'm looking at this from an Infamy standpoint. I thought I would do PvP way more than SvS, but due to the fact that PvP gives you a lot less rep than SvS, I choose to do SvS more frequently.

I choose sea. I love sailing, and saying things like "REPAIR FASTER YE LANDLUBBERS!" There is a lot that POTCO can add to Sea Combat, but I think that I'll say I prefer sea. I just wish it was a bigger part of the game.

On land, its just much more personal. Plus, much more loot that way.

And its fun so say, "GET YOUR SWORDS OUT YE DOGS, AND BLAST THE GUTS OUT OF ANYONE IN YOUR WAY!!!!! MAKE THEM CRY!!!!!"

It has to be land. Although I like sea combat as well. There both fun.

I lag and freeze on both. But I truly prefer land... In fact I miss the old sailing system that timed your sailing.

I said sea, because I'm better at it and enjoy it more. I'm not a very good Pvper.

Let's rephrase.

"GET YOUR CANNONS READY YE DOGS, AND BLAST ANY SHIP TO SPLINTERS!!!! MAKE THEM CRY!!!!"

You can rephrase and it still works, so that reason is invalid

Although I really like cutting my sword in to anybody that crosses my path, my old pirate hearts remains claimed by the sea - but not as much NPC fighting, as SvS.

Depending on where you are, Privateering can easily be the most action-packed part of the game. There are times when it's slow and easy, and other times when it's just an all-out chaotic battle. I find it hard to find a more diverse experience anywhere else in game, aside from the events run by my guild and friends.

I guess I'm kind of biased on the subject, because I used to be an avid Privateer myself back in the day. (Or maybe it's because of my super shiny Commodore Badge ) Either way, I'm sticking with the seas on this one.

I guess the point there are cool phrases on land and sea.

Does anyone think they could add more to NPC battles?

I solo sailed alot and I rely love to sail plus I prefer to svs then to pvp.

Sorry but i have to make this a multiple choice for me. Both. But i put land because there is ALOT more too it then sea fighting. But also at sea u get to fight with weapons when boarding ships so i like that.
