If he just boom went offline, chances are he's been having difficulty with something. If it was like, he comes online for three hours one day, then two, then one, then zip, then he probably quit the game. Its all how you know him. If he is the type to quit the game, then you should restart the guild. On second thought, wait till the new update. Maybe he will come online and transfer his GM status to someone.

Before we go in to depth, just answer me this: Was his decline in activity progressive, or was it instant? And how long has been inactive for? A week? A month? A year?
After I hear this, then I'll really be able to help you. |

On test there is a new feature, where the GM can transfer the gm status to another member or officer.. maybe discuss this with him. Maybe make you the temporary(or permanent if he chooses) Gm until he is able to return full time. Discuss it, don't ask him to do it.. that might make him mad if u just up and ask him to do it.

I think he comes on in the middle of the night, just to make new people officers. so maybe when the update comes out, i'll be GM... that would be a nice surprise.

We put the Transfer GM to use on Test and it worked smoothly and the current GM can name their successor ANYTIME, in other words - it's not a one-time only option.

First, think. Is there any way that you will be able to contact your GM without having to wait for him to come online? This can include an email, a guild site, etc. If yes, then you should attempt to talk to him through that. Maybe you can ask him what's up, if he's stopped playing, if he'll be back, etc. etc. If there isn't, then I think the smart thing to do is to tell all of the fellow guild members to, if they see the GM, tell him that you need to know what exactly his plan is. It's unlikely that you'll be able to run in to him, but it's more than likely he'll run in to SOMEBODY in the guild. If it occurs that your Guildmaster is not seen from or heard from within a few weeks, then I suggest you start to plan on making a continuation. This would involve all of the Officers on being info'd on the current situation, and, if you're up to it, you will assume Guildmastership of the new guild, seing as how you're Co-Guildmaster. If you don't want to run it, or, you would prefer that you had some sort of guarenteed backing in this, then you have a vote. In fact, I would suggest a vote either way. You're going to want your GM to have the most support within the guild, so proving who would be the best leader through a vote ensures a majority of popularity. Starting up your guild again is a whole 'nother story. But, as you can plainly see, I've been in the situation where I've had to assume leadership, and bring over an entire guild, so I'm qualified pretty well to help you in that area. PM me for more help if you decide to take this route. However, just a suggestion; don't rush things. As eager as you may be to get back in to the swing of things, you're going to want to take this slowly. It may simply be your GM has hit a rough patch, or he just lost interest like that. Either way, take your time in how you take things. You'll want to hear from him before anything. |
