They seem to be using a brand new version of Panda3d, something not consumer ready. Without hours of tinkering and advanced computer skills, I'd say it's pretty unreachable for the time being. Maybe in the near future.

Yeah WitchdoctorDan hit the nail on the head. I had an older version of Panda3D on my computer and couldn't open the files a few weeks back (I had been able to access them before hand), then downloaded the new version of Panda3D and still can't open them. /sigh.

wonder if all our talk of phase files has tipped them off so they will stay ahead of the latest public version

I just opened a phase file from the current live version 1.0.28.6 using Panda3D 1.7.0 and it worked fine.
I believe Panda has the ability to encrypt the phase files so if they decide that all of this phase file exposing is detrimental they could easily lock us out, but on the other hand, it is free advertising for what is coming up. Make sure you are accessing the files correctly, these are not like regular files that you can open. The short description is: Copy the phase file to your current user folder (The folder for the profile you are currently logged in to). (Make sure Multify has been copied there as well from the Panda3D program folder) Run CMD, enter: multify -x -f phase_4.mf {that would be for phase file #4, change accordingly} A folder with the name of the phase file is created in the same user folder you are working in, the contents are in that folder. |

First of all: If you'll give me like 2 hours to make them, of course you can has a cookie, Dan!! =P
Secondly: I can't remember which version(s) of Panda I had, I will go find 1.7.0 and see what I can do...I've always opened them before so I was thinking maybe the process with the CMD and all had changed. Thanks for the info JH, will try it again! |

Gotta go in program files, on your hard disk (C:). At least on Windows. As I said, for the time being, it's gonna be hard without some hard (and rather confusing) work. Advanced computer skills would probably come in handy, not REALLY advanced, but beyond the stuff they teach in high school. :P

Puh-leeze. Speedway is the ONLY person to go to for the phase files. I think everyone is impressed with him. :P
