Bug with Alberto's remains quest? - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

I'm on the quest where you have to recover pearls from alberto's remains, by killing 2 rock crabs. I 'm having no luck. I've killed like two hundred and still no pearls so if anyone has any idea, thank you for posting.

Are you absolutely sure that you're killing "Rock Crabs", not "Sand Crabs" or "Giant Crabs"?

Rumrunner's Isle is a good place to find them -- walk near the NPC who stands at one end of the island. Rock Crabs are continually spawning there. (The other types of crabs spawn there too, so again make sure that you're killing the right ones). I had to kill several but I eventually got both pearls.

i too believe this quest must be bugged! argggg, me and me mates shot hundreds of ROCK crabs, sand and Giants to no avail pirates! Ive shot em on Driftwood Isle, Devils Anvil and Isle la Congreros (sic)? and NONE of em recognize the quest by alerting the Not found or Found pearl prompt. Ive tried re-booting my pc to return to the game same problem. I met another mate on the island trying to get entrails from a Giant Crab and same problem for him. ..are all the crabs bugged?

Many of us has gone past that quest, so I don't think it's bugged unless they changed something. I had to go after rock crabs and get chunks of meat today and was able to. So lol not all crabs are bugged because I got my lunch meat

Go to an island where there are rock & sand crabs.

Kill the opposite, then go kill the one you need for your quest. Sounds wierd, but that's what worked for me!

thanks for the hints, i've been on this for 3 days...(and as many updates)

tried the shot other guys first, didn't work - but did level up a few things lol

(tired of eating crabcakes, running out of horseradish)

tried 3 different worlds, all islands...so any more hints?

or do they want us to get more skills or somethign to get past this point?

I think it is bugged - I am past that quest but it worked fine for me last weekend - the Giant Crabs (entrails) are bugged as well - been reporting both for days (since I have met others on the various islands asking the same thing you are) - would have thought they would have fixed it by now. Guess you (and me) will have to wait until they decide to finally do something about it.

I found the rock crabs on tortuga... at the end of the misty mire bridge straight ahead ... wait for it... on a rock. as soon as i killed it, the searching bar came up! Took me about 10 to get both pearls (and a few undead nearby while waiting for the crab to come back)

Thank you so much for the misty mire tip, it worked!

I'm sure now the quest isn't completely glitched. All though I wish the quest could have let you know you had to kill them on Tortuga. The quest gave arrows and rays of light that lead to nowhere also.
