Tips for Training Weapons By Members of POF

We all have had difficulties on what to train where and how to train them, how to get the most experience ect., I made this thead so that we could all post about what we've found helpful for training and what we find works really well. I just a place where we could share what we've learned about playing since we started playing.

Shooting - Whenever working shooting I like to fight either enemies that throw Grenades (Undead Greniders, Spineskulls) because they stay at a distance and don't do entirely a lot of damage, or even Undead Raiders because after they draw their sword from throwing daggers, they don't move.

Voodoo Doll & Staff - Working in Tormenta works best for me, when you're in your 30-40 levels and 15+ with your Staff and Doll it's really a good place to get multipul targest, personally when in your low 30's I like the area near the Bridge with the Spineskulls and Flotsams it's easy to attack groups of three at once with both Doll and Staff which makes gaining rep a lot easier.

Dagger - Always try to use as many dagger throws and dirt as possible. Personally I like to work at Bosses in Ideal districts with 3+ people, the bosses go quick and the reputation adds up quickly. The good rewards from bosses are good too! haha.

So post for whatever weapon you like it can be 1 or all of them, just post anything you think would be helpufl for other players.

I'm just going to post how I leveled my weapons, some parts may be incorrect due to when I did it, but here goes:

Sword - Leveled up on any low level until I was around 5-7. After that I went to Fort Charles, and various other areas until I could take on higher level enemies (Padres). Then I leveled in the Catacombs until my notoriety was ready for Tormenta.

Gun - My least favorite weapon, so it tended to be low level (14ish when others were 25 - the old cap). I started off against low level creatures, then went into Murky Hollow on Port Royal to level for a while. Once I was higher, I then went to the Catacombs on Padres. Then I just went to tormenta and worked from there.

Doll - Started off in Fort Charles. Once I got to a higher level, I would go to Kingshead. I mastered it later at Tormenta, after gaining some rep healing.

Dagger - Same as Sword.

Grenades - Prior to the cap raise, I leveled in the Catacombs wall glitch (also prior to the islands being changed up). I was able to gain 10 levels and master in a few hours (this was with a level 40 by the way). After the updates though, I leveled up by going to the bridge on Tormenta. You can easily earn 400+ rep per round if you do it correctly. I was level 46 or 47 when I did that, and my nades were already 25. Whenever I do level my second pirate, I am going to just use Tormenta for this weapon.

Staff - Same as grenades. Once you are a decent level, move on to the bridge.

Speed leveling (a la Edgemenace style) is:

Confer: http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...st.php?p=58348

Level up to 7 or so on each weapon, then level only CANNON until you are notoriety 20.

At 20, stop everything, master grenades. Kingshead, then catacombs. (Use blunderbuss to measure your distance from the 3 raiders, then start throwing grenades until your arm falls off. Then throw some more until grenades are mastered.)

When grenades are done, go back to cannon until mastered.

From then on, pick your lowest weapon and find a yellow enemy. Reasonable reds are always nearby to a yellow. When they turn green, move to a higher area.

At noto 45, when all weapons are mastered, start the Black Pearl quest. When it and all side quests are done, go to Tormenta for about 20 game-hours to get to 50.

Also..

Grenades: Max them out early, because they are very hard to train with higher levels, if you plan on maxing them later it's smart to at least be level 40 before you can finish easily.

Sword: If you can, attack two enemies at once with a Broadsword and use the strike-down at the harder enemy.

Shooting: Having a weapon with Unlimited Ammo is a great thing to have, gives more rep and you don't have to worry about running out of ammo.

Staff: always, always, train this with more than one enemy, being the staff does such drastic damage, you might as well stretch it out doing it does the same damage to all the enemies.

This is actually a good plan. Anything you have to defeat will be grey by the point you reach 45 and it will be VERY fast.

Here's my tips:

Sword: I only attacked things that were yellow or red. Once my sword reached level 26, I took it to the Catacombs with some guildies and trained in the area with the skeleton boss, who I can't remember the name of. It started with Bone though. Anyway, it took me about 3 hours at notoriety 27 to get level 30.

Gun: Same thing, except I trained some on General Hex. I waited until I was 25 notoriety to try Hex though. I mostly trained anywhere there were enough skeletons/undead/anything not human for constant fire.

Doll: Got it up to level 11 in Fort Charles and Dundee, then moved on to Tormenta as a backup healer. I then moved on to Outcast killing stumps.

Doll: When you start off, get to level 5ish with the Swamp Alligators, then move on and go crazy with the Big Alligators near the back of the swamp on the Cuba Mainland, it worked great to get my doll started for me.
