Troublesome Rumors

To my fellow pirates:

Recently, it came to my attention that some rather unsavory rumors are circling about the Elite Thievery Co.

I feel since I am GM, I am often the face of the E.T.C., and I need to address this issue publicly - since that's how these whispers are being spread.

First, and foremost. The E.T.C. does not, has not and will not 'infiltrate' other guilds with the intent to do harm. In fact, we are ourselves were the intended target of a potential membership purging attack - which fortunately we averted. We do not seek enemies or have any.

I do not condone any actions by my membership against other groups and we do not single out other guilds as targets; rather we strive for alliances - as members of several guilds here can testify to. That even goes for the guild that targeted us. It's childish, immature and has no positive impact - so we will not waste our time on it.

If ANY member of my guild has made any such claims or has attempted such an act, I want to know about it and it will be dealt with. Rest assured that this company of rogues minds its own business and we are more than happy to share the Caribbean with all other guilds.

If you are someone who has repeated these accusations without proof first, I am easy enough to reach to talk about them the next time.

This somewhat angers me. I have hung out with E.T.C. members (Recently my guild, The Twilight Coven, Mcraging members, and E.T.C. members did an invasion together) And they seem like good people. I hope you find these people and bring them to justice.

I would like to back this statement to the hilt. As a former First mate of the ETC and current member I can say whoever is perpetrating these rumors is simply put lying.

The ETC has no designs upon any other guild as they are having too much fun being a family. If someone is purpetrating these rumors please advise Eliza or any of the ETC's awesome Officer core.

For the record EC I haven't heard anything about this but rest assured my ears and resources will be open. I tip my tricorn hat to the Elite Thievery Co's members. Stay strong my friends and Plunder on.

I agree wholeheartedly Eliza. Dark Archive GM Jason Firewalker and McRaging GM Eric McRage both express these same sentiments. Guild wars are unacceptable and anyone inciting one from within our halls is subject to removal from the guild

Um, whoever is perpetuating this does NOT know the real ETC. I know you EC, I know better. If I hear this go around you can bet I'll throw down my 2 cents to squash it. You're one of the nicest people in the Caribbean. As if! You, and ETC in general, have an ally in me.

I second what JM just said. I have been apart of ETC for going on what 2 months now, and everyone there has been great. Who ever is saying this stuf, as Whale put it, is simply lying. They obvisously do not know teh real ETC and it's members.

I do hope that this gets settled really fast, because IMHO, this makes the outstanding members and officers in ETC and it's GM look bad, REALLY bad.

As a former officer of the ETC, I also back what Eliza has stated. We always stayed away conflicts with other guilds. That is not what the ETC is all about. Eliza has built the ETC on the standards of fairness and helpfulness. As I said, I am a former member and officer, but do know that most of the current officers were officers at the time I left and still uphold the standards that were in place when I was there.

I have not heard any of these rumors in-game and rest assured, if I do, they will be reported to the ETC officer core.

Not to worry EC-pirates that know ETC realize such rumors are uncalled for & completely untrue. As stated "Guild Wars" are ridiculous & completely out of the realm of playing POTCO. All Brethren are-well, just that-BRETHREN! Unity of guilds is one of the benefits of playing POTCO. Large or small, strong or not as strong-we are all here to get along & aid each other IMHO....

I have several friends in ETC, they are great pirates and the best sort of players. Jealousy often attracts these types of rumors and attacks. I would play and crew up anytime with an ETC member.

rumors like that are usually started by haters who are either jealous or mad cause they cannot get in your guild, or because they were booted.

I am a little slow to post as I have been "house-cleaning" inside our guild for last few days, as immature players have decided to rock our boat(with one epic fail after another , but Eliza, and rest of ETC, our guild offers its support and friendship. I was one of a handful of pof members online in wee hrs on the day a thread was posted with threats...we reported...and it was removed. One of the repliers to this thread posted that, please contact me if you would like that info.

As Cannonfury stated, its a matter of anger and jealousy.

In my times as being a part of PIC and PNC, I have experienced first hand the threats of such immature pirates. Some atttempted to infiltrate us and crash us. But no matter how determined or resilient they may be in your destruction, it only requires a strong guild structure to easily overpower them, which you undoubtedly possess. A strong structure, and a strong heart to back it.

I have no doubt in my mind that the ETC is being wrongfully accused, and is only being acted upon out of rage. I know first hand the ETC are kind, welcoming people, and would not stoop to acts of evil, whatever the level.

To Eliza, and the rest of the ETC, we would like you to know Partners N Crime gives you our support as well. In times of trouble, its up to we as pirates to aid each other. If anything is needed, please feel free to ask.
