Navy Flag Ship battle - Pirates of the Caribbean Online Fansite & Forums

I am hoping this has happened to someone else and you can help me here.

I can not board Navy Flag Ships. I engage them we battle the timer bar comes up that says ready to be boarded, other ships gather round and shoot grapples and I see there lines catch onto the Navy ship but no matter what I do or how I do it I never get the option to fire the grapples at the little green circles and therefore am never able to board.

I watch helplessly as the Navy Ship I disabled is boarded by others and battled and sunk and I get no plunder, no rep and worse no credit for sinking a Navy ship that I need (or have needed) to complete a quest.

What am I doing wrong or not doing at all?

How do you get the circles and then the option to use the grapples and eventually board and fight and sink the Flag Ships?

Are you able to board other ships?

You have to deal the killer blow to get the option of boarding when you do there will be popup saying so and you will see the green circles.

If other people are grappling then they must of got killer shot in.

Yeah the best way is to go to a quiet world where people arn't ganging up on the ships

Interesting, I did not know that.

You may well be correct but I was pretty sure some where in the past I have seen more than one ship connected to the Navy ship via the grapple hooks. If what you say is correct how could this be? Two ships can't be the "one" that deals the killer blow.

It looks like a ship can steal your flaghip even after you get the green circles. Last night, our crew gave the killer shot, we had the green circles and perhaps since we didn't hook fast enough - suddenly, another pirate ship was hooked to it! So I don't know if that means both ships had the same option at the same time or if we just lost ours, because our green circles disappeared after a bit.

Maybe thats a bug?

As Black Beard said go to a quiet world and try boarding it never helps with a load of others circling and shooting while your trying to board.

When I play in a quiet world with my son and we are each on our own ship we both are able to shoot grapple hooks when the time is right. Whoever lands the first one then has the rights to that ship. Go to quiet world to do this quest.

If you grapple it first you will see a pop up come up stating waiting for captain to board (or if the captain of ship you will see a countdown clock and button to click to board the ship). If you notice someone else has grappled the ship just move on because you are wasting you time. The only thing you can do once someone else has grappled the ship is shot cannons at the enemy on their ship and kill them off.

Navy ships are the ones with Red writing above them. A Navy flag ship (which is the type you are able to board) have a flag above them.

lol Don't feel stupid

Flag ships, both EITC and Navy will have a flag above them. Navy flags are red and white, and the EITC flags are black and white.
