Assasins and flytraps
Where is the best place to get Assasins that are not super high levels? I tried to get a 30 in Del Fuego and that was a joke.
Flytraps. When I go to the swamp in Tortuga right outside the prison I see only one flytrap. Then I get a venom spit and two others appear making this quest impossible for me to get even with others helping. Any ideas on how to get these before they get me? so frustratied with this one.

I like to go to Cuba to get my flytraps. I was getting flytraps today, and with each respawn it went to a lower level, so my 3rd flytrap was only a level 9
Anyway on Cuba, you can start killing the fly trap, die, go to jail, and return to the flytrap where you left off. I remember going to jail about 6 times to get my first flytrap task completed. As for the assasins, I think they're all pretty high level, take people with you to help fight, or someone with good voodoo for healing I would be happy to attack for you if we're ever on at the same time

One point to add about the idea of dying multiple times in an effort to kill a higher-leveled enemy: I have noticed that while this is VERY helpful in completing quests, it SCREWS you on Notoriety! For example, I was trying to kill a Veteran the other day using this method. I know I was the only one to ever attack him because I was actually fighting him right outside the jail doorway. From death to battle was less than 10 seconds. I was on the only character to ever cause damage to him at all. On my last fight with him he was already down to less than 10% of his total health. When I killed him, I only got +3 notoriety.
![]() I've tested this theory several times since and have found the same results every time. Despite the fact that I have been the only character attacking the enemy in question, I only get a small percentage of the notoriety they are worth... based, I'm assuming, on how much damage I do the LAST time I get to fight him. I guess I had assumed that when an enemy dies, notoriety is given to the combatants based on the amount of total damage they did to the enemy. So if when a Veteran dies, I have caused 60% of the damage to his health, I would get roughly 60% of his notoriety award, or something similar. But it doesn't seem to work this way. ![]()

True, but I think sometimes you need to sacrifice a little noteriety to complete the task. When you complete the task you'll get anywhere from 100 to 1000 noteriety anyway
There are usually a bunch of people at Fort Charles ganging up on the higher level veterans and grunts, so that's another good way of getting your navy or eitc tasks done. |

Saltwater,
I can't remember which Island it was on but it was on one of the smaller odd islands like Isla Tormenta or something. I was wondering around one day and found some low level fly traps. It was a level 9 I think and there was several of them. I just make sure that I have some Tonics with me when I go adventuring. If I can find it I will let you know. Good luck. |

If you have the dagger, 100 throwing knives, and 50 of the green...
At the top when you first go in Del Fuego- I glitched onto the lava at the right as you start going down.... Now to glitch in (like Toon Town, might not work for every computer), but sneek down to the overhead walk-ways, there is a ramp- but when I jump under the walk-ways, I pop right up, like on the docks... Look for the Assasins by an arch on a wall holding the lava back (you won't see him from the lava, I made screenshots but can't post them)... Run on that walk-way towards the lave that was on your right when you first entered the cave... At the end of the walk-way is where you glitch onto the lava (no keys to press, just a crack in the seen you can't see). It's kind'a buggy all around there, but inch over to that arch with your dagger out to find the green dot where your Assasins should be... Let 'er rip, might even level-up your dagger.

I got my flytraps and thanks to the girl pirate who was there helpin. I didnt see any name or level around you. And thanks to everyone else for all these great tips. I never thought to go to a new island either. I just got my dagger and am at a level4 on that. I found the flytraps 'just appear' like the one around Tia Dalma. Is that a bug or meant to be like that hiding like it does? I heard a noise and it just showed up.

I went to Cuba and kept killin the traps to left of Tia Dalma. I died a few times but got my stuff. They were not low levels tho. No idea where to get low ones. The trap next to Tia is near the entrance so some people helped sometimes. good luck.
