Guild Announcements 8/05/09 - Policy Changes.

This is the first of possibly a few changes we'll be making to the guild's policies, since my standards can tend to be a bit picky. The following changes only reflect upon our guild requirements.

A member by the guild's definition, is a new player who has been recruited into the guild. The qualifications for joining the guild as of 8/08/09 are as follows:

• Must be an Unlimited Access pirate, OR
• Must be a basic access pirate that meets the following requirements.
  • Minumum Level: 8
  • Have a POF Account
  • Have all weapons at level 4 or higher.

These requirements are in hopes of finding good, quality members within the guild so that we may start having events and sailing the seas with one another. While members have no officer powers in the guild, they can be invited to some officer meetings to voice their opinions on guild matters if they wish.

The original policy allowed for all basic access pirates to join the guild, but I feel that this has been taken too lightly and caused our current issue of having a guild full of inactive members.

The officers be the pillars of the guild. You can always trust an officer of the guild to be kind, helpful, and respectful. (Note: When I say helpful, I don't mean they'll come to you and serve your every whim every time you need them, I'm just saying they're not going to tell you no for some silly reason.) When we take organized sailing fleets as events and such, the officers may be the captains of the fleets, depending on the amount of users that come and how many officers are available at the time.

I only ask that all officers have a Paid Account at the time of being promoted to officer. This is not because I do not trust free players to be good officers, I just feel that having paid shows me that you will be sticking around on the game and thus can be a good officer. While it is no longer a requirement as of 8/08/09, I still ask that all officers join PiratesOnlineForums.com if at all possible. This will not affect anyone's ability to become an officer however, as I realize for some people joining the site just isn't an option.

We previously had a POF account as a requirement for becoming an officer, but it's quite the task to get people on POF from ingame, much less find people on here that don't already have a guild. On top of that, I do realize there are those ingame that I can trust that would make great officers, but joining the site isn't an option for them maybe because they don't like fan sites or there is something or someone preventing them from joining the site. This policy has changed for all officer ranks except for Co-Guildmaster(s), as I really want atleast part of my staff here on the site.
