PvP on the Islands!
My Ideas:
Hi guys. Here is another one of my ideas. Okay, the basic topic for this post is Land PvP on the French and Spanish islands. So, at first I thought it would be cool to have a PvP dedicated server and a place to crew up. But, I had a, what I think as, a better idea. Basics Both of the islands would be accessible to teleport to (like always), except this time you are put straight into a bar with three rooms attached (gunsmith, blacksmith/trainer, gypsy). In order to get into the action, you must leave the bar, but before you do that you must speak to a designated bar patron and enroll in a temporary allegiance to either island. You cannot leave the bar unless to talk to one of two people. The first being the enlister, and the second being a dinghy escort. Basically, what he does is take you to your ship, and nowhere else, it forces you straight to the ship/ship launcher. Now for the ranking/power-up system… Ranking- There will be the capability to earn ranks in the islands. Upon being recruited you will have 30 or so levels of ranks to go by. They basically are a Pvp island-only feature. As you rank, things begin to upgrade. Ex: Rank 10 = +50 hp; Rank 15 = +75 hp; Rank 30 = +500 melee damage. Each rank will give a small upgrade to stats (You will not get Reps from this PvP). They will remain active in PvP, but once you leave, the upgrades go away until you return. Power-ups- they are limited time things you achieve through quests, gold payments, or certain mile-stone defeats of opposing factions. They have the same basic idea of ranked upgrades, only they wear off in time. Death Tolls/Respawns… On each island there will be two jails, one for the “home team” and one for the “away team”. The away team’s jail will be closer to the water, where the home teams’ will be closer to the center where there is a fort. Each team will also have control over an army of NPC pirates, all wearing the colors of their island. You can also, depending on your rank, bring up to three of the NPCs to the opposing island, as backup. Even though they are enemies, you will not get rank points for defeating enemy NPCs. The center fort could also bring another feature… CAPTURE THE FLAG. It would be like an instanced PvP match. You could capture the flag and obtain points after returning it to your side. The reward for winning could be gold, reps, rank points or just plain fun. Death Tolls would be similar to regular deaths only you can lose power-up and permanent power-ups would be mitigated. Privateering and PvP… Privateering would come into play when you are looking for a fast escape while carrying your flag. An icon would go over your ship’s name saying that it currently has a flag on-board, and giving other ships more involved in svs the idea that you need protection. *Among the islands there would be random vendors selling power-ups, ammo, and tonics. There has to be some sort of room for flings of mass chaos & anarchy, private PvP battles, etc, stuff the current system allows, else it wouldn't be a total improvement even if everything functioned smoother or better. That said, I'm not so sure about some of the stuff. Combat should be combat, with few vendors around.

Not true the most recent update was good except for the linked accounts. As for your idea...
I'm not quite sure it will happen. Its a good idea but I wouldnt count on it. I mainly like the capture the flag idea. |
