Best Skill Selection for Ship Vs Ship Privateering?
Been spending alot of gold trying to figure this one out.
I have tried different variations , with out seeing much difference during battle. Anyone care to share what they have found to be the best skill arrangement for sail and canon to do the most damage during ship vs ship? I have seen these light sloops with one gunner take ships down strangely fast! Can't seem to get that kind of results so far. Hope they aren't cheating! I have 3 level 40's , two with all mastered weapons. What am i doing wrong? |

It depends on what you sail. There's no point in investing points in Broadsides when you drive a light sloop, yours or a friend's. Alot of people just use the Ramming Speed for the burst: if you're one such person, only one point should do it as I think only the first has an effect in speed.
As for cannons, with Open Fire activated by the sailor, all the points available for a certain shot in that shot, Barrage 5 points, and the Shoot/Rapid Reload (Thunder doesn't need Shoot at all, and neither does Grape: Grape was useful for light sloops when I last recall), a cannoneer can certainly do alot of damage. I don't know of a universal sailing build, but quite a few cannon builds can do: I usually seperate them on whether or not I get points in Shoot. |
