Thursday, April 16, 2009: With the events occuring this weekend (April 17-19), I have decided to try and revitalize the Guild Circuit, as now seems like the most oppurtune time.

Basicly, if the event allows for basic access accounts to create guilds, then all of the Guild Circuit Arms can be created by non-paying members, meaning paying members need not sacrifice any of their pirates' abilities to either be in a guild or start a guild.

Each "arm" is a guild in itself, formed for a certain purpose. I'm thinking that there can be arms for certain things like a Capture The Flag Organized League, a plundering team, a questing-assistance team, a leveling-crew team, etc. A "foot" is a guild that has members in the Guild Circuit while it is not formed for the sake of the Guild Circuit (for instance, The Mandalorians was formed by Skirata for his purposes, etc. etc.). An arm is just meant to be used if you actually have a need for the provided function (if you need to do certain tasks for a certain quest, you'd temporarily leave your foot, join the desired arm, do whatever, then return to your foot).

Basicly, the Guild Circuit is just a system of hopping guilds. It is utilized through the trick of keeping Unlimited Use Invites handy. By being able to leave your guild and rejoin at any time, you have increased the functions and people you have access to. If Darman Skirata creates an Unlimited Use Invite and shares it with me (I actually am in The Mandalorians btw), I can leave the Mandalorians at any time and rejoin at any time, though I will be a member upon returning. If I had any other UUIs at hand, I could leave his guild and jump into another, all with the chance to later return back to The Mandalorians, because I have the UUI that Mr. Skirata made.

If the event this weekend does allow for some guilds to be made, then I need some members here to help create some of the arms (the names may take a while to go through for one, and I'll need others to help create the UUIs and such--as such, I won't be able to make every arm). Basicly, each arm (a guild) that is made should have a name reflective of its purpose. Multiple arms could be used, such as: a couple of plundering guilds, to fill a couple of crews on the high seas while effectivizing against lag, as well as to make sure that everyone who wants to plunder is able to plunder; Organized Capture The Flag League arms, to allow for multiple games in a tournament to be done at the same time if necessary, and to allow either guilds to be the teams with the crew chat as the announcements, or vice versa; a couple of quest-assistance arms, just to deal with different and competing interests; a couple of weapons-leveling arms, with maybe one or two to just deal with grenades; last of all off the top of my head, some arms to make for organized Pvp and SvS, to either just know who else wants to fight, or to make fair sides.
Any pirate that makes an arm shouldn't be asked to do anything more other than creating the guild arm and creating a UUI this weekend. Any pirate that does such may want to make a specialized hopper with the same account, or to make more arms with the same account.

Some terms you may find useful:

arm: a guild established for the use of the circuit; made to fulfil some function for members of the circuit

cell: the general name of a guild involved with the circuit

foot: a guild not established for use of the circuit that shares members with the circuit

the head: This is just a guild called The Guild Circuit. To effectivize use, knowledge of who is on the game at the same time you are is very helpful. Members of this body are True-Friends with as many hoppers as possible. As such, you can just contact them, and they can easily tell you how many fellow hoppers are on, and who those following people are.

host: an arm dedicated to hosting events

organized circuiteer: a random person who inserts the invite code for The Guild Circuit (guild); an organized circuiteer will be true-friended with as many members as possible and given officer rank, as to get allow any member who doesn't wander the forums to join

Unlimited Use Invite Code: These can be created by any guildmaster, and are in use until they are suspended; anybody who redeems one of these codes will be admitted into the guild.

Announcements

~The event allows for basic members to make guilds, meaning that over the weekend free arms or any other sort of guild to be used for the Circuit can be made freely (2 per new account). Any help increasing functions of the Circuit would be greatly appreciated.

The code I gave you is unlimited bud. So basically I would make a guild for a specific use. So the members can go there for that use then go back to their original guild. Is that right?

Well, the basic premise of the event works: basic access members can create guilds. Whether the name will come through in time or a new name can requested remains to be seen. However, the thing is more of an ingame event, like a Foundersfest or so, then a mass upgrade, so new basic accounts will still be only able to make 2 pirates.

That being said, the premise of hopping guilds works just as well. You type in a code, you get put in a guild. You can leave at any time. I've created the Flag League Host 1 and Flag League Host 2, as well as The Guild Circuit (the guild of said name). All 3 names came in record time, the last of which only took 15 or so minutes.

Cool. Commodore, I got the names approved in rapid time as Flag League Host 1 and Flag League Host Two, so I'm thinking of just calling it the OFL for Oranganized Flag League (or perhaps POFL, as it seems forum-friendly). Oh, and I take it you want the Rogues to be listed as a foot?

Sweet Skirata. I'd try to use Ordo Skirata as a hopper to switch between the cells (the new general name for guilds involved in the Circuit). The guilds you made can be made for any function, or perhaps they can be utilities, your call (thanks for making them). As well, do you want that I list The Mandalorians as a foot guild?

I like the Special Ops Brigade by reason of name alone: how about making it an Organized Combat arm or something? (It'd just be cool and all to have the title in PvP or SvS.) Sure thing with the Nulls though.

I checked your threads Skirata and Commodore. As you've removed the guild codes there, I removed them here. I guess the Circuit will be a private thing between any Foot that joins.

It's security reasons. My guild has 163 members at last count, and i know ski's is over 100. It'd suck to lose all that.
