Guild Alliances

I saw this on another game I played. Guilds and clans could form alliances. So why not bring it to pirates. If yer in the guild, under guild options there would be a tab where you could view your guild's allies. If you're not in the guild, you can see them on DXD, or by clicking on an extra info thing by the guild button.

I have to think along these same lines as Jason. Guild alliances may be an interesting idea, but with different codes for each guild, different methods of accomplishing things, and personality differences...idk I could see where it might help the smaller guilds. But when would alliances be applicable except maybe in SVS? This is just my perspective...The only other scenario that I could see an alliance helpful might be if the Kraken does show up or Jolly Roger's army. But how close are we to these events happening?

It would ultimately depend on the definition of "Alliance". Remember, the reason there are so many individual guilds is because each is different and has different perspectives.

If the alliance is just a way of saying, we help you and you help us, well, we do that anyways. No alliance needed. Almost every pirate I have met is willing to help others out with just a quick call. Most of the people on my friends list are people I have met because I went to a BB for someone I had never met before.

If the 'alliance' is just a friendship, occasional helping out, a place to call for aid when in a tight spot, or a "Let's do some things together" type arrangement, then it should go smoothly.

If it becimes an "ALWAYS do things the same and together" type of thing, then just close one guild down and everyone join a single guild. (Warning, it probably won't last. And the break up may cause ongoing, lingering problems.)

The basics of it would have to be MUCH better defined. Guild friendships are one thing, but true alliances could lead to a lot of problems.

no this is not world of warcraft...all though some aspects of the game hav been adopted into pirates which is nicely appricated and no this is not guild wars...which i hav never played...BUT YEA! straight to the point...i like the idea because those that hav guilds that are inactive can communicate with other guilds and see who's online and play with them.


also when i first read the post i thought you were reffering to the idea of alliance's as in joining spainish or french of being freelance and joining both heheheh.

Well, if there was going to be drama, i feel it would be best if those two guilds didnt align. And im sure that all that is required for it to happen, is if a guildmaster and guildmaster align, than there would be a tab, listing all guild alliances where you can view their players and call on for help. You would have a specific tab to talk to a certin guild. Guild chat itself would be you and your guild only. Good idea Commodore.

It could only be one guild though. If there were two you may like one guild but they hate another, but then you also are allies with the hated guild, there could be some big drama. Anyone agree? But yes I do like the guild alliance thing.

i like the idea. Let the Court of The Sea begin it's reign! If we actually could align, I would crush others if you could actually fight between guilds. Guild PvP!

Guild Alliances may make more sense for PvP and SvS, but for smaller guilds who want to do big events as a group, like invasions, etc. then why not?

The ETC is aligned with two other guilds and we've offered them invites to our events, but many of the things we do - like the Survival Regatta is open.

I don't like the idea of guild alliances, if you define it as guilds being able to join forces against other guilds, this is definately something we DON'T need in game. Disney seems to have cleaned up on a lot of the behaviors that were going on a couple years ago, with some guilds mostly kids and teenage guilds acting like little street gang in game going around picking fights between guilds etc...

One thing that I have favored is the creation of sort of a League Of Guilds an organization where GM's can get together and discuss ideas for the betterment of the game environment. Its my understanding that now such a group exists in game.

I've formed friendships with several guilds and have often crewed up with other guilds for such things as treasure fleets and invasions along with plundering and leveling.

...this does exist...just not 'officially'
