We definitely should be allowed to see enemies on enemy ships. For this they have to find the easy way that many people know about, to remove lag. Enemy ships should be boarded using planks or something (ships' speeds can be slowed) The Cannons on their ships should fly back when we blast them with our cannon ammo. The Cannons can be fixed back with some mini game of some sort. I like your idea of enemy personalities, and bribery like in Cannons of the Deep game sounds nice.

Just like the random Privateering, affiliation and quests as I mentioned before, even enemy retorts can be added. Many Ships of the Line sounds too far fetched. Probably along with the Player privateers being sent to hunt fugitives down, even NPCs should be sent. If a player is affiliated with one side, he can rise up in their ranks and even command their soldiers. This affiliation is permanent unlike Privateering. Not thoroughly though. If you betray the faction you are affiliated even once you should not even be allowed to help or join them. In these severe cases (Affiliation breaking, massive damage to factions' property) they should sent their troops to hunt you down. When my crew and I are in Ratskellar gambling, a Royal Navy troop could barge in to hunt us down. If it's an entire Guild that is being faced with such flak, then the enemies can even land up in ships to attack the Guild Island where Cannon Defenses can be used to sink the enemy ships.
I dont think we should be able to work for the EITC, navy or jolly roger or any non-pirates group. all it will do is make the game complex for kids and newbs. And it will make enemy's between us pirates. how ever, i like the idea where you defend merchants. also, if one player can tell other players what to do, the game will be boring for them.

I got an idea. i was thinking that all pirates enemy's (navy, EITC, jolly roger) should send in transport ships to enforce there troops. for example, say one of jolly rogers transport ship sails away from cutthroat to enforce padres. if it get there, every skeleton in a area would level up. say if a grenadier is one level away from a executor. and a transport landed, the grenadier would be an executor. if a transport ship doesn't land for a day, they would level down. if it doesn't land for a (game) week, they would die from starvation or not enough voodoo to sustain them. that way pirates could really do something, then just keep killing people that will always re-spawn. what do you say?

Guys My test Pirate, Davy Mcwrecker Is in a guild called Moon's Outlaws. there is a person in it named Bubba & he has a SOTL. i like ther fall the where u get under the ship cuz the crew doesnt know yer there & u just walk aroung & when they dock u get all the gold for FREE

Now, I wonder how sailing the Kingfisher, Warlord, Cerberus, Phantom and Revenant will work. It just CAN'T be to the point where you're using a Kingfisher, you sail right by another Kingfisher, and THAT Kingfisher just magically knows you're a Pirate and starts firing upon you. Here are my thoughts:

Sailing the Kingfisher or Warlord: Only Undead Ships will attack you. Navy and EITC ships will only attack if you attack them.

Sailing the Cerberus, Phantom or Revenant: Only Navy and EITC will attack you. Undead ships will only attack if you attack them.

If anything else, I have no idea how it'll work.

These are the best pictures I have, they are of back when the Ship of the Line was FIRST shown. Before one of the recent updates, I do not remember which one, the Ship of the Line was of the Navy colors.
