i'm definatley not paying 200k for something as slow as a galleon,2 less cannons than a frigate, and this is a ship of the line we're talking about they were known for their large number of broadsides it should have at least 15 on each side.As for cargo room, well that doesn't really matter i make just as much money with a war sloop...porting takes about 2 minutes.from what i see it's nothing more than a lightly armed oil tanker

We should be allowed to work for EITC, Navy, Undead, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese, The Shadow Lord (from PotC prequels), Merchants, etc. Basically Privateering and Hunting. It can come in the form of random quests, GM events or absolute affiliation to the factions. I can be tasked to protect a British Merchant Fleet from Port Royal to Tortuga with the help of Royal Navy NPCs. I can face attacks from pirates and enemy privateers. I should be asked to unload cargo from a Merchant ship at an island, and I can be hired by the EITC to steal the cargo, thus double-crossing them. The game should follow the basis of Armada of the Damned, where players can choose whether they want to be Dreaded or Legendary. In this game I can be privateered by the Dutch Trading Co. to hunt down a pirate crew that are looking for a Treasure for the Shadow Lord on a mysterious uncharted island. Rewards should differ from time to time. Basic Character Classes would be nice. Actually random PvP should be allowed between crews on Wild islands. Maybe even Ships in the Uncharted Waters Quote:

i think that scince there navy ship versions they have fewer on deack cannons as i hve seen on enamie ships. so pirate versions f the sotl will have more cannons on deack then the navy counter part.

Keep in mind, this is a game for aimed towards 7-12yrs. I don't really think 7 or 8yr olds would be able to follow that complicate interface.

Actually Sasank it's 10+ which is why I joined in the first place.
On what you're saying that Affiliation can be changed.. Let me tell you again. Privateering might include just for a single task, based on which reputation builds up and tasks are made again. When in Affiliation people look at you as "a member of the Black Guard" or "Ah! A skeleton!" But if we betray our overlords, we leave the affiliation and get hunted down. Therefore we can change colours. That may be their "Long-standing policy" but through e-mails players have changed many things. When user:Toanuju's pirate ID was banned, complaints were lambasting the Disney Interactive HQ. This was only evident when they removed his ban by saying that the removal was done because many people asked for it to be so. |

"It is the long-standing policy of The Walt Disney Company not to accept unsolicited submissions of creative material. This is to avoid any misunderstandings if your ideas are similar to those we have developed independently." -POTCO
That's my point! Because we send in so many ideas and by some astronomical coincidence, one of your ideas is utilized in some way in the game, we might think,"That was my idea! POTCO listened to me!", when they throw out your emails like trash without even looking at it! Before the Invasions, I suggested an Undead Captain many times. Then the Invasions came and so did the Undead Captain. I actually thought that they listened to me! But then I found out they had Undead Captains tested already in the Beta Testing in '07. I love the ideas that you posted above and I really hope they incorporate some of them in the game, but joining the Black Guard or the Navy or even the Undead goes against what Pirates Online is really about which is "No Oppression!", at least in a crude sense. |

I would like to sail a SoTL. Although I don't want it costing something like 200K Maybe something like 80K, more than a War Frigate, but more than the current money cap.

I was just curious, does anybody have any screenshots or videos of any of the new ships other than the ship of the line?

I do not like how enemies just appear on an enemy ship, and would enjoy for them to at least come out from below the deck, or come off of their cannons to battle you. They should also fix ship boundaries so that enemies do not disappear into a part of their ship that forces you to pull out a ranged weapon. All of these are simple fixes, and really are not back breaking ideas. I really think small update at a time like adding enemies to a deck one week, and then adding the effect of enemies comiong out of the deck the next would be reasonable. Something like adding an island, and something like adding a new ship sinking/boarding system could take weeks, but they do not exactly have to leave us without some steady updates. You may think, they are doing the best they can, and that they are trying their best. Well, to be honest, I have seen many games update with new maps and areas within their game every week. It is probably not too hard to at least make a weapon a day and change the color of the blade or change some effects so that they can have a small little update the next week with something for us to venture out for. I truly expected them to add more and more into this inventory system, and though a good idea, it is coming up short with its variety and originality. We need something to spice it up, or something else to search for and test out for ourselves. |

The game could be more realistic, but have you ever seen POTCO go that extra mile for authenticity?
