Sarah is right. On the test there were still a lot of glitches because of the massive update. I guess they didn't have the patience to fix them all which ,of course, is annoying. When an update goes open you would expect everything to be fixed. I guess they wanted to get it out before October 31st.
Now for the annoying glitches.... The most annoying of which (to me) is the ability of enemies to hit you you from far off. If you board a flagship and some enemy is off the ship you are out of luck. They can kill you from off the ship, even with a sword! This happens most of the time on skeleton flagships. I am sad I can no longer level grenades with the kingshead fence. I guess I'll have to back up now while being chased by the soldiers (which I am fine with. As for the updates themselves..... I love them! The reasigning of skill points the most! The new ship features which lets you decide who to let on your boat (just you, crew, guild, or public). The bosses are pretty cool even though they are huge and very hard to kill (especially the assasins). The new weapons are ok. I guess I can't make up my mind on whether or not I like the update. The new features are cool, but are canceled out by the glitches. Hmmmm........not sure. |

I have random enemies attacking me now.
It's almost as if the AI has been updated. Enemy ships have been donig their highest damage all the time. That's not supposed to happen. And what about the bosses? A level 17 samuel has the health of a level 30 enemy. Sarah: Thank you! I wasted my time on test reporting bugs because I wanted my higher level pirate to have fun when this update hit open. I reported 10 major bugs. Enemy ships attacking for no good reason. Enemy ships following you from tortuga to padres. That's two of them. I reported an increase in lag once. I don't think I'll bother reporting any bugs next update. EDIT: I think the dagger did get messed up a bit but I think it makes the game more fun. I don't like a game that's too easy and the dagger change has made it harder. I wish the skills would recharge faster but other than that I like how we can do extra damage if we get enemies in the back. |

I agree with everything that's been said so far. The update is pure garbage and I am seriously considering cancelling my unlimited and stopping playing altogether. The only good things out of it were the reallocation of weapon points and the boarding permissions. But those few good ones are greatly outweighed by the new horrible ones.
Update gets a 2 out of 10 from me.

Well, it was fun to have something to do on my two lv40 pirates over the weekend. Too bad it's done now. I guess I could go on some clothing or jewelry quests. :/
I think Disney may be trying to kill off this game. 1. If I cannot walk through a fence/rock/tree/bush, then the NPC's should not be able to either. That is the biggest heap of dung I have found so far. There used to be a spot by the second stump in El Suduron (closest to the beach) where you could catch the stump on the other side of the rock/bush and level pistol/dagger/grenades. Now the stump walks right through the rock. This is true of the other spots where there are obstacles as well: it's as if there is nothing there for the NPC, but just to impede us players I can't walk through any fence, the one on KH or elsewhere. Yet now the Navy just glides through as if it were not there? I could maybe see it if they were undead, but Navy should be made to walk around to the opening like we have to do. 2. Hex eater. Why have it anymore? It's worse than useless, it's costly. 3. Fix the glitches. ALL OF THEM. It is more than just being able to glitch into "heaven", people are still PvP glitching. Quit punishing the good players and allowing the ignoramuses of the game to ruin it for the rest of us. 4. Triple Lightening shot. I grabbed a cannon on another pirate's ship this weekend. When I switched to Lightening and fired the first volley, it was a triple volley of lightening. It was nothing I intentionally did, but immediately was accused of "cheating". Later, on my ship, another player joined via the crew matching. His first volley of lightening was a triple volley. In crew chat he said "Wow! Did you see that?" He obviously didn't do it intentionally. And of course, some ignoramus from the other side changes to our side and starts calling us cheaters. I told him if he thought I was cheating to report me, report what he saw, and ensure that he spelled my Name and my ship name right. His response? "Disney won't do anything anyway." How flipping disheartening is that? When you know sending in information won't do any good? I have two paid accounts. After my year subscription is up, I will have no paid accounts unless Disney starts fixing what needs to be fixed. |

As for the updates the Gun is freaking ugly. I hate it. I liked the look of the old dagger better too. But the other weapons are OK. The lag is horrible. I hate the fact that u cannot choose a combo variation of your choice (like skip cleave). But am otherwise happy i can fix my skill allocations in other weapons. I hate that they made Hex Eater useless. It was a good way to lvl up. I agree with the poster that they should have just reduced it's effects so that u you had to tag them with it from time to time to keep them disabled. And i hate that I found out how useless it was after i had already redid my gun skills so then had to pay 2500 to get rid of a useless skill and put it where it's worth it like on Bane Shot. I hate what they did to the dagger (my favorite weapon to use). We are Pirates not Assassins so what is with the backstrike? If you really think about it ALL the weapons should do more damage from behind, so why pick on just dagger? I can forgive the changes to sand even tho I use it in PVP a LOT. I do like that you can break attunements and interrupt with certain weapon skills. It's about time u can break the attunement of those PVPers that love to doll you and run instead of stand and fight (or jump and fight, whatever your style may be). The Fence at Kings is a sorry loss and i agree with the other posters that it should never have been changed. I'm sad to see the King's glitch gone but happy to see the empty Kings is still there. I hate what they did that allows ppl in PVP to kill in one blow. It's not fun anymore to go in and get double or triple teamed and not have a fighting chance (not even to run to get some space). They should have fixed the PVP glitches but leave the rest alone. I only really play for the PVP and to see my friends anymore because of the lack of content (the new weapons quests could all be done in a day or two). Now they have taken that away from me. AND I play with two computers to lvl up so I can heal with one of my mastered pirates while the lower one attacks. and I found on one computer I could have my pirates side by side, yet on the other they were like 10 feet apart. So now that explains to me why some ppl in PVP can hit from a mile away yet I can't hit them. They are in front of me hitting but from my perspective they are far away. That really bites and needs a priority fix. Well that's my two cents for now. Chele Last edited by Cheleszoo; 10-20-2008 at 02:13 PM.. |

It is kind of disturbing that they would put this out on live servers, when we were still sending in issues from the test servers. There are so many bugs that needed to be fixed. I think Disney rushed this out to pacify all the players that were complaining. Patience is not a pirate virtue.
As far as the update itself, I really like what they were trying to accomplish. Point reallocation is probably the best feature, followed closely by boarding permission. The new bosses are cool. If anyone don't think some of the new bosses are that hard, go face the ones at Padres Beach. They are a good challenge for most pirates. The bad is almost everything else. IMO Disney should have listened to the testers and kept this from the live server for at least another week to work on the issues that have been stated by all the other POF's. I know myself that the issues were reported, not only by me but by several here on the boards. Also, most of my guild reported all these issues. Disney can't say that they didn't know about them IMO. Can't wait for the Halloween update. It should be an even bigger mess on top of the mess that was already created. I need a big favor DISNEY - LISTEN TO YOUR TESTERS - YOU PUT THEM THERE FOR A REASON!! |

My two level 40's have had that red in their Noto bar off and on for over 2 months. Well before this latest Downgrade to the game! My oldest used to be listed on DxD as a level 41, (Months ago) but no longer. Now only shows as level 40. And, that red in the Master status bar, it is there sometimes, and not there others. SO, I still don't believe that anyone level 40 is earning any rep! That staus bar is just another Disney bug!

The lag is bad. It is as if there is too much for their system to process even on dead servers. Sure the better look is nice but it ruins the game play cause now the lag is bad. I've sunk a few time because the meter isn't showing what my damage really is. I had 3/4 hull left and one shot later I went down. Same apply to enemy's I'll hit them and hit them and their level doesn't go down and then it will show half their level is gone and then back up and then down again. And no there was no others in sight. The lag seems to be the worst in port royal. Buildings not appearing fast enough causing me to walk right into them. Reallocation of skill points is both much too cheap and too easy. I can see the first one as a gimme for the low amount but they wipe your whole slate clean and allow you to redo everything. Why not just give you one point at a time and to reallocate the point you have to reearn it. But you would get to select which ones to remove. |

I am disappointed about the Hex Eater shots no longer having the power as before. My daughter is 12, my son is 9 years old and their step brother is 8. I would play on one computer and hex a Mollusk for them. On the other computer they would work on leveling up weapons and I would stand guard. This was a great spot for little kids to work on leveling weapons (not just adults). We worked great as a team there and they had lots of fun. Even if the Mollusk didn't attack you, you still had to be mindful of other Mollusks, Urchinfists, and Seabeards that could ambush you.
As for the new weapon quests. I enjoy them. I stared all five at the same time. My character is a 39 and she is about 10k from level 40. It is very difficult to get reputation from kills lately so the reputation gained from turning in parts of the quests is nice. I also like the skill retrain, except I made a simple mistake when assigning a point and it cost me that 2500 gold just to fix my mistake. Grr! I was not happy, but you can believe I paid closer attention to points assigning on my other weapons! I hated to see that my dagger takes FOREVER to recharge now. I also an not fond of what the new dagger looks like. It is basically a short sword now in its appearance. |

Go to becketts and find the boss (forgot his name, it's like somebody the silent) He's obviously behind a rail. Throw grenades at him. If he comes out, back up and he'll stop moving towards you. COntinue throwing. (You need some other people to back you up!) When he dies you should get 100 rep without crew bonus, or less if other people were hitting him too. Don't feel bad! Go to tortuga and go to wildwoods and find that dread boss. He's from level 14-20 and hes a boss. You should get pretty decent rep, or if your looking for a challenge go on padres beach and find that boss gypsy right by the entrance/exit to el sudoron. |

Swim - standing on the dock, swim left around the island. Or get to it through El Suduron.

So far I like the new updates. The reskill weapons is the best for me so far. Its great to have new weapon quests, its giving me incentive to grind my weapons so I can have a new quest and stronger powers. The one thing I am questioning
is.....What the heck were they thinking to add kneel to the emotes? Raising a mug to celebrate with mates would have been my pick. ![]()

Sara, I am with you all the way on this. I also noticed that villains are there and then disappear not to be found again and the guiding light is a mess most of the time it is misdirecting me all over the place. And you can not defend yourself from the swarms attacking you but are unseen. Some of the changes would be fine once they get it consistant and fair so you can make some kind of strategy.
