I'm guessing the second option - being approved by the governors is a very polite, misleading way of saying no, without them having to take any personal heat over it. And I don't blame them.

I had an issue with my screenies today on Tavern Takeover. I don't know if the lag kept them from saving, or if you can only hold a set amount of screenies in the file.

I only got one that pertains to game advances - even though I took 13-15. This is the idea that we be able to bury gold to circumvent the gold cap (which I think is a GREAT idea), and as another way of transferring gold to friends (and unfortunately I didn't get the whole convo):

Sorry - I'm not great with images. She says, regarding the idea, "I'll take that to the overseers, it's a fine one Anne". I told her "Not my idea, but thank you." And she said to tell the one who's idea it was that it was a "sound one".

When I asked Rose Winsome directly if we could hope for a raise in the notoriety cap to at least 50 within the next 12 months she said "I think you will be very pleased". She also told another pirate she thought 50-60 was a very reasonable request.

I'm taking that as they've heard our pleas and are working on it.

When asked about the Harkaway Rose said she knew nothing about it. Rose is a no-nonsense GM. If she doesn't know she tells you right out instead of that mystical "there are forces at work" junk. But she also strikes me as not in-the-know for all the developments, so I'm not sure what to make of that.

Rose said she'd seen the Kraken, knows it's on the way, but knows nothing more than that. To me, in GM speak, this is again "we're working on it but don't know how long it's going to take". However, she also mentioned there is never an end to our tasks in the Caribbean. The way she said it (rotten screenies, I had it captured) led me to believe this is the next story chapter.

Captain Walter had an odd thing to say when questioned about pets in the game. He said he had a parrot given to him by an old sea salt for many errands he'd completed. This led me (and another pirate present) to deduce that pets will be a quest. Sounds like Gunner all over again IMO.

They're being much more cadgy about the return of the curse. I almost get the feeling they're not sure it will be ready for the Founder's Feast, which puzzles me, since the code is already there.

Both GMs (Captain Walter and Rose) again stressed for all pirates to look their best for the feast. Rose said the men "shouldn't smell like animals" and kept mentioning she needed to find her jewels to wear. She complimented several people specifically, saying they looked good for the Founder's Feast. When I asked Rose directly about the Founders' responsibilities during the feast she said Founders needed to "keep the fires lit and the dancing going into the night", so I'm still not sure if Founders have actual tasks to perform or not.

Again, info that the "smithees" are working on ship customization and new weapons

That's what I got from today. Hope it's helpful. I spent 3 hours stalking 2 GMs and they've probably got me on some watch list now, but if it tells us something new it's worth it.

I know - but it's next to impossible to pin them down on anything. I tried to be realistic without backing her up against a wall. And thinking about how long it took to get from 30 to 40...that could eat up a lot of time. And that other pirate said 50-60 and she thought that was reasonable. So maybe 60? Who knows. Maybe they have even a higher level planned and we just didn't ask the magic question. She didn't say "You will be able to reach X level notoriety by X date".

But, at least it's a light on the horizon. Beats the heck out of what we've got now. Call me easy to please, but I'm willing to take any advance at this point in time.

You've got to remember these meet-n-greets are a madhouse and you're lucky to get a straight answer to any question. I choose to view it optimistically (which anyone who knows me will tell you is as rare as hen's teeth).

I hounded Thatch a bit this morning before I had to leave. I think the message of 40's basically with nothing to do has been passed on.

My view of the curse coming back with desolation as is, let alone cutlass, dagger skipped combos by many, leaves this still up in the air with cheat/glitch problems. When asked about this, I basically got a response you are quite a knowing pirate aren't you. May be some of this being worked out before we see a curse again is what I am wondering.

Did get a mention of a gorilla, while others spoke of what animals they would like to see. Jolly Rogers is always lurking. I couldn't help respond "less lurking more action" With the following = be careful what you wish for. So something with Jolly Rogers appears to be forth coming. Kraken was mentioned as well as the Harkaway again. There was also talk of ships, and what we would like to see. Captain quarters, with a place for gold, hook items and such was spoken out. Didn't get a comment about fury broadsides, haha.

Green circles and hay troves at Kings etc, I think awhile back I mentioned that in a post, perhaps a test server message, can't remember. Have never heard any other talk of that though. It would be nice for them to utilize some of these unused portions of the game, such as hiding our loot. As well as a use for the treasure that we have collected at no plausible use. Maybe I can get some of those things in tomorrow.

Still working at getting Thatch a real hat with a feather, haha.

Missed exactly what it was referring too, but got a comment that pirates make mistakes. I begged to differ, pirates don't make mistakes, they are just not working with a full deck of cheat cards.

I should start that as a poll, how many think I should have that as my tag, lol.

I don't understand Horus...technical, they lied?

If you're asking if I think they've been lying, no I absolutely don't. Look, as magical as the game world can sometimes seem, these are regular folks working 9-5 jobs. They're doing the best they can. Just like everybody else on the job, stuff crops up that they didn't expect. Expectations are higher than originally planned on. In other words they're doing their best as fast as they can.

No, I don't think anyone of them is lying about anything. I think they're working to their best ability given a fluid situation.

These folks have a lot to juggle.

There are:

Those who want pets
Those who want increased notoriety levels
Those who want Captain's quarters on their ships
Those who want houses
Those who want more clothes
Those who want more jewelry
Those who want more tattoos
Those who want new weapons
Those who want a new story chapter
Those who want ship customization
Those who want every single glitched fixed
Those who want some glitches brought back
Those who want their weapons levels raised
Those who want the gold cap raised
Those who want different ship classes
Those who want new enemies

Sheesh...I'd be a basket case if I worked for Disney. No, I don't think any of them are lying. I think they're scrambling around trying to meet the most demanded requests as quickly as they can.

Last weekend I asked two of the GMs about what we would be required to do at the Founder's Feast, and one of them (I don't remember which one now) said not to worry, that everything would be taken care of. He said that there would be "lots of music and merriment." They do tend to stress the importance of dressing in our best clothes, however.

I don't think they have it too tough, they just need to set priorities (and maybe higher more developers).

1. Fixing glitches should be a given and an on going thing. They don't have to fix all of them, just the ones that impede game play, fix the others later. As far as those who want fixed glitches back, too bad.

2. Do those things that will keep players involved (and paying) first. That would mean a new story chapter which in turn means raising the notoriety levels and might also means higher weapons level or new weapons. More quest in general is always good.

3. Building on what is already there, like more cloths, jewelry and tattoos should be easy to add.

4. Things like captains quarters or houses, pets, new ship classes, and ship customizations are much more involved so probably should wait.

Just my thoughts on what the priorities should be.

One note on this, they said they are working on it, but I would make sure to have a open space in clothes if you can. Tattoos had a problem for mothers day, if you had a full inventory you couldn't get it.

Hello Mates,
This may seem unbelievable to many, But I have been commissioned by Captain Walter to gather as many Founders for the feast as possible within the short period of time of Sunday (the 23rd of Nov) to Thursday, the starting day of the feast. I can tell you our Captain has a great heart for all Pirates and has special duties and expectations for Founders starting now at the Founders Feast and in the future. We as Founders need to gather together and take a leadership role within POTCO like never before.
With that said, I tell you Mates, a great leader is a good follower. As a Founder you are also a leader, and your are actually a servant of all, for such a position is not for self promotion but for POTCO edification.

The question was posed as to our duties at the feast, here is the precise answer,....

The GM's will not be attending the feast continually, our Captain and the rest our GM's need our help (Founders) in overseeing the Feast in their stead as we are co-hosts as stated. We are their honored subordinate servants if we want the task and I for one stand with my Captain in this honor.
During the feast, their may be some unusual competition events we will assist in overseeing. Many Pirates will be asking general question in regards to POTCO like quest leveling advice, weapons leveling advice, many various types of questions Pirates may not get the opportunity to ask of a high level Founder in normal day to day game playing.
I can’t tell you how many times a Pirate has come to me and asked of the Gold label and button next to my name, I proudly tell him (without sarcasm or selfish pride) of how I became a Founder, and further more how this honorable position dictates that I am here to help and advise him as best I can. (that degree is certainly at each Founders discretion based on the specific circumstances of the encounter) We must proudly stand and take our evolved position within Pirates of the Caribbean Online and not go into seclusion on the Test Server. (I love playing there as well, but open servers win most of my time)

With many Founders participating to this high calling we can assure POTCO and our GM’s are well represented, now and for future service. (and there will be)

Thanks Mates !
