Not at all, its pefect to play POTC on a laptop. The only problem is its hot when you leave it in your lap for a long period of time, so you might wanna use a table or something. Its just like playing it on any other cp

I run POTCO with a laptop, and it works great. The only problem I have found is that any error reporting is accompanied by a nasty little note from POTCO that says that my laptop's card must be at fault.

I use a labtop with the game it works fine and everything only thing i might complain about is not being able to shut it without the internet connection disconnecting and giving me the boot on game but other then that and the not being able to zoom in and out easily ( no scrolly wheel) but it runs fine other then that aiming might be weird at first though too

They will blame any laptop, including those shown in the toms hardware writeup, because of typical manufacturer support for laptop video cards. Unlike desktop computers, the video cards inside laptops are not typically supported by the chip set manufacturer since each laptop will have minor tweaks and modifications that enable those cards to function in the laptop computer environment. This necessitates that any and all updates to the laptop video card drivers are the responsibility of the laptop manufacturer, and typically those manufacturers will not update those drivers after the initial development and deployment of the chip set.

I run PoTCO on a Samsung laptop. I love it when they tell me my drivers are out of date. Especially as the machine is like 2 months old. Drivers are about a week older lol.
I love playing on my laptop as I think the touchpad makes game play so much easier. Adjustments to range and aiming is so much easier. Personal preferences of course, but I find playing with a standard mouse a little cumbersome. |

I too play on a laptop, but I found the touch pad a little difficult to use, so I went out and bought a usb travel mouse and now I dont have any trouble at all.

I run POTCO on my Dell Inspiron E1705.
Had to tweak the graphics/video setting to smooth things down, but otherwise, works good. I use it to eehhheem play while im at the office all the time.. |

Yea, couldn't imagine how hard it would be to play the game with that...

The main problem with laptops is that, because of agreements with computer manufacturers, most designers of laptop video cards are literally obligated to provide no direct support for them.
Exceptions to this kind of policy are few and far between... and that's before you get into the subtle changes and optimizations laptop manufacturers make on all the devices they use. |

The aforementioned Dell E1705 laptop that I (and Chris) have has a decent ATI videocard in it, but ATI does not update the drivers for it, this is Dell's responsibility, and they dont update these drivers as new lines of laptops come out. I actually had to stepback my drivers on the laptop to make POTCO work correctly. Drives me nuts when any problem I report.. im told to update my video drivers (they dont get any more up to date). |
