PvP Best Practices?
PvP Best Practices?
From what I have gathered: 1. Max Life Drain? 2. Max Grave Shackles? 3. Hex Eater useless? Because recharge is faster than you can remove? 4. Pistol damge in general highly reduced? 5. Voodoo damage in general highly reduced? 6. Doll and Cutlass dominate? 7. For Ship PvP get one point or more in Grape Shot and one point in Shrapnel? |

Ya doll and cutlass rule in pvp. Staffs, nades, and guns are bad. Dagger is okay.

Could anybody care to explain why put point in Grape shot and shrapnel for ship PvP?
That is how I would build my perfect PvP machine For cutlass: Max flourish Max thrust Max Brawl Max blade Storm Max Parry Pistol: I would max hex shot, only because say if you are pitted against somebody 10 levels lower than u and use dolls, it will be very easy to drain them and kill them with hex shot. max all three passives max shoot Doll: Max spirit ward Max life drain (not very impressed with it though) Max grave shackle Max poke Max Swarm Dagger: max throw dirt Max sidewinder max viper nest max finesse max blade instinct Grenade: max throw max long volley max smoke bomb max seige charge not sure what to do with the rest but I used seige charge to surprise people in pvp, hehe max the passives that reduces slow durations Staff Max flaming skull max conservation max spirit mastery max the passive that increases the recharge rate Cannon: max barrage to increase grenade damage Yeah this is my perfect PvP built. If you Log on to the Disney pirates online web page, there is Community on the left navigation side-bar. Under that is Player's Channel. In there, you can open the Directory. In there, you can SEARCH by pirate name. From there, you can look at the skill point allocations of any pirate. Comparing the skill point allocations of various level 40 pirates is humorous and baffling. Some smaller guilds, you can see bizarre patterns, like one person with rank 5 Full Sail, another with rank 5 Ramming Speed and another with rank 5 windcatcher. A combination like that makes it possible for a crew to switch off drivers, to create a faster-than-possible ship.
Grape shot currently is the best assassination ammo. (Note that most of us considered it a wasted skill point, two months ago. Round shot works for single enemies if you bean them...but for foiling glitchers, nothing beats grape, these days.) Rank 5 thunderbolt is disturbingly destructive. It also has twice the range of any other ammo. Round shot itself is very destructive when you are at a higher level notoriety. You get three shots (thunder you get only 1) so if two miss, you still take out the outer hull. Explosive has very limited application, but when it hits, the fireworks are glorious. Fury is hard to keep reloaded. Amazing destruction. Firebrand is weak fury. Both suffer from restocking (which makes Round Shot that much more attractive.) Chain shot has not found a niche yet. Still useless, from what I can see. (Having said that, something will probably change, making it long range or something.) Rapid reload is amazingly helpful. Shoot is amazingly helpful. All the passives are surprisingly beneficial. If I ever do it again: shoot 5, round shot 5, thunderbolt 1, rapid reload 5, barrage 5, shrapnel 5. For sailing, I regret every point I've wasted on treasure sense. |

grenades ( if you ave your points in the rigt place) can kill you in 1 hit with siege, gun ( same thing with points) can kill you in 3 hits, dagger it may not do as much damage as cutlass but it does the amount of damage alot faster then cutlass anyways now these weapons are actually good in pvp ok for gun max bane and aimed shot grenades max siege and barrage dagger max eviscerate gouge throw dirt |

Doll is probably better as an assisting tool now, not as a weapon, though the Life Drain option always should be present. Dagger I'd say is an anti-Doll and throw weapon. Cutlass still works nicely. Grenades have nice passives, and the Siege Charge still kills one hit when rightly proportioned. The Pistol damage has been boosted, don't know if it works well or not. The Staff I really haven't used, but I'm actually thinking Soul Flay has some use...
Ooh, now for SvS: the Round Shot, Grape Shot (anti-LS shot), Thunderbolt, Explosive, and Fury all have application, though the Explosive isn't so practical unless specialized. Pick the passives to best help your shots. If you are sailing, there are some ways to best work it. Light Sloop? More points for Tacking and Windcatcher as ruled; Open Fire perhaps if you light and load, so to speak. War Galleon and Frigate? Open Fire may need some extra points; the Galleon is definetly worty of more points for the broadside, and the Frigate most likely is. Taskmaster goes optionably with points into broadsides. Alot more to say, but alot more than what is sayable to stay secret. |

Actually even though a galleon's broadside shoots more then a frigate's or sloop's does Galleon and frigate's broadsides are equal with galleon they have more but... frigate's broadside with each individual broadside cannon ball does that much more damage so it basically comes down to speed handling size etc...

Hey, I don't sail with a Galleon period! And all I said was that it was worthy: I'm more of a sailor that just maneuvers for the gunners. I'd either do a War Frigate or a Light Sloop if it were always up to me and a crew, unless I have an alternating broadside crew.

Many of these things can be explained, but first off you need to look at the history of some of this. This is originally a old post, versus the new things added to pvp.
Grenades for example on live, can kill in one hit. With 4 points in barrage or more, 5 in throw, take aim, and siege. Full aimed shot I have done 2540 to one of my other characters. Though he didn't take all that damage for some reason and survived barely. Pistol is same sort of situation, 5 in shoot, take aim, and bane. A full aimed shot doing most damage in pistol, and can kill in like 3 shots. These things now are all being altered on test and dropped way down. When the Halloween event comes out don't bother even looking at any of this, it will be a complete new ball game. Best I can tell everything in pvp has been reduced. Some of the svs, is also things to do with past events. grape shot for instance could be used to stun a captain of a ship, knocking him off the wheel preventing use of the healing glitch. Galleon still out does even a war galleon, if you are working on rep. This is because it hits will all its broadsides, where a war galleon does not. This being for a ship you have shot and heading straight at you, working rep. This does not mean though this is a good ship for svs, to me galleons were easiest to sink. Some don't bother with spirit mastery, perhaps that is why I see my life drain doing one of the highest damage, at least 50% of health. As well as flame skull doing more. Again though live pvp right now is a COMPLETE different word than what is on test right now. |

something to do in PvP is get a team of people lv30+ who have a lv10+ staff (so they have flaming skull) and wait for them to come to you then when they're in range unleash a barrage of flaming skulls (requires you to be crewed so you can speak without them hearing you otherwise just forget it)

I would go with vent or something similar, if you want to do this, so you can speak to each other. You just have to work around setting it up, not getting ban for announcing it in game etc. |

i know where your coming from poison (was banned for three days recently) but not everyone has something like that or if they do often their computer may not be able to run both it and the game
