I've got a 2Ghz with 512ram....I blame everything on the RAM. 512 is the absolute minimum. Make sure you're not playing full-screen and turn all of your graphics settings to the lowest possible. Hopefully that will at least make it playable.

Make sure you do not have the option for "aggressive memory conservation" or whatever turned on, it usually causes more harm, than helps.

I got 3.0 ghz dual cpu 2gigs ram and dual 7800 GTX video cards and only experience lag when 60 or more players are in close proximity of me (20 feet) this is a server / network issue and is more of a problem of all these computers exchanging information constantly.

No matter how fast you PC is and mine is really fast I play games like fear and crysis at max resolutions with all the eye candy maxed out without problems. However in these types of games even I experience massive lagging when my pirate is standing next to other players with slow machines as my information updates are slowed to a halt until the other players machine sends more info.

This is made abundantly clear in privateering where I find it simpler to sail with no crew and suffer zero lag issues and literally sail circles around ships with full crew simply because they are lagging so bad they cant seem to hit me.

Then there are times when I experience lag for no reason and that is because the server (abassa or andaba) is full and unstable.

Disney needs to lower the thresh hold for a full server so there are fewer players to decrease lag.

So no matter how fast your PC is lag is always gonna be an issue till Disney takes steps on their end to correct it. Making privateering have it's own server is a step in the right direction.
