hi im new here and i dont really understand how to get into the beta. is it hard? i signed up a while back and have not received any emails or anything in a while.

It was a one time promotional thing with fileplanet.com. We non-members of the site can not get on the beta, so we need to wait for it to be opened, which will be allong side the second coming

I was lucky enough to get one of the real beta keys, you know, the ones that Disney sent to us personally.

Well, I felt cheated because Disney didn't send me one. I signed up for the newsletter on the first day it was announced. April something of 2006. Then I got an email 10 months later for Beta test... and I never got it the key.... So it wasn't fair that someone could get a key when they signed up only 2 months.

I signed up on the first day too and never got a key.

I think they may have hand picked from the locations of the IP addresses so that most people wouldn't lag on their low end test servers.

But I could be wrong.

It's not hard nor easy...Its luck... Yes the same luck as Winning lottery...execept the beta keys have more chance for you to winning.

The Captain is kinda correct though,. Beta testers are always picked based on age location and other game sites thier names might be out on.. I know i am not the only one that got my beta key from Sony in an SWG email saying Disney is looking for experiscened beta testers to go and kill thier servers.. so I had to sign up LOL I know that someo f my buddy that play in the WOW test region got beta key invites too.. so it is like one big rigged lottery.. but hey for the first guy that started this thread dude go and sign up at piratesonline.com/beta my wife signed up a month ago and got her key last week,. if Disney is running this test like other gameing sites they wont stop giving out keys until they can hit 1000 players on the game in one sitting.. in the last stress test I only counted about 515 or so players on at one time.. so since the game is still full of bugs not enough people are playing and reporting them so grab some friends and tell them to sign up and cross theri fingers

well if they are the Devs or Disney have not closed the signup forn down or annouced the end of beta.. so like other testers are doing just have everyone you know who wants to test go to piratesonline.com/beta and click the signup link then cross your fingers until you get picked... But I am sure that once the final build is ready to be tested and disney does more stress tests with us.. they will annouce on the offical site that Beta is closed and we will all get emails about when our accounts will be deleted and when signup for the real game will turn on.. but until then grab the run and test up me heartie's yo ho...

It isn't just a fileplanent.com thing. Keys were given out to players randomly, but there is still another way! Use the contact us and say you want a beta key, that's what I did and I got it in about 2 or 3 days!

I used the contact us link on the pirates online site 2 days ago and just asked nicely for a beta key. Basically said have been waiting a long time to play this game and that I'm a big fan of Pirates. Went into my email this morning and they sent a key! So just use the link and ask for one, hope that works for everyone!!!!
