Ya know this all comes down to the parents responsibility not Disney's.

The only reason the restrictions exist is to protect Disney if and when someone decides to blame them for whatever misfortune befalls them or their family.

But it wont be Disneys fault for lack of trying. It's the parents fault for lack of monitoring.
It goes way beyond the game people. If something happens to your kid on here YOU and YOU ALONE should have been watching them better. NOT DISNEYS JOB. Its OURS as parents.

And the protecting of kids is completely separate from the reason why people want an adult server anyways. We want it to get AWAY from the child like behavior we THINK the kids are displaying. Unfortunately for those who want away from it is the fact that some of the adults can and do act WAY WORSE than some of the kids do.

I for one am all for it. But hasnt anyone noticed that all the oceans/servers are linked? Doesnt matter which one youre on you cant run away from anyone. We're all playing the same game in the same world. The servers just re-distribute the workload.

No matter what ocean I go to I can still talk to every member of my guild and all my friends.
If you're on one and someone else is on another it doesn't separate you.

To run adult servers they would have to completely separate them. Which is probably more about money than our wants and needs. Disney is big business and like most primarily cares about the bottom line/dollar over all.

I got my account suspended because I was trying to get one of my guildies to our guild site. We were having a tough time getting it to work and after about 15 minutes of separating and coding our chat I flattly told her the link. Two days later I got an email telling me I couldn't play for 72 hours. I asked them how I could get around getting in trouble talking to people I know in real life and apparently there is no way. Even if you are "true friends" you still are restricted. Next time I'll just pick up the phone. As for the heavily filtered chat, you can't even say I'll meet you in Cuba. However, while in crew chat with my sister in law I said a bad word and it went through. It's so inconsistent.. We should plague them with calls requesting adult servers. I would jump through whatever hoops they request if they would give us an adult server.

The other day I could say 40000 in local chat but not tell me guildmate how much each of the war ships cost. I guess it thought that the prices were my social security number, web site or home address.

Seems like it notices the context the words are used in as well as the words themselves. You can say thing but not in certain ways. My buddy couldnt even tell us he was watching "My name is Earl". Had to send it in 4 separate messages.

They filter is too heavily restricted. I mean come on people, we cant even talk about game related issues. You can say kill, killin but not killing. THATS THE POINT OF THE GAME!

I'm a little confused by the chat restrictions. I don't have them. I can say numbers and typo like crazy. I don't use profanity but I can say anything I want.
It appears there are already adult filters in place. Every now and again I see someone saying they can't say something.
Am I just lucky?
But I agree an adult server would be so nice. I would love to not have my ship fired on in port. Ugh.

Oh man I had someone, assuming it was a kid, Open fire on me in the padres port thge other night. He got close enough so I could see his chat in local and he started yelling that I had angered the padres fire gods and he was an evil spirit sent to make me pay.

I was minding my own business "sniping" ships with thuderbolt from the bay and he obviously got upset by it. He then used some glitch to sail his war galleon into the mountain over and over returning to my side and opening fire yelling at me to leave or die.

I accidently typed "go away" in guild chat which prompted a few of them to hop on my boat and watch the kids temper tantrum first hand. After having enough of his attitude we all loaded up some firebrand and lit his entire boat on fire. Then and only then he finally dropped anchor and left.

While it was irritating at first and funny after that it just goes to show that anyone can act like a jerk. We just assume its kids since its child like behavior.

LOL. I often open fire on them if they don't listen when I tell them "I am not a target!" I hate it when they make my ship smoke.

::Stands up and applauds with a standing ovation of pirates behind him somehow.::

This is in fact one of the best idea's I have heard. When I canceled my subscription because of low funds a few months ago I said this to the woman on the phone. There should be more things we can do for fun. Pirates were dirty mouthed people also if we are with a crew of our adult friends and playing around screaming at the NPC Navy we should be allowed to call then foul names!

I just do not like playing a game sometimes because the younger audience can get annoying on how to play sometimes. They don't understand the game mechanics ad older people and it just is more helpful to be on our own servers at times. It is way to much to have to worry about some kid following you and if you are thirty levels higher they expect you to help them! It's tough when I am fighting something my level to protect a level 6 child. Not to mention I understand this is a family game and all but not all MMOers play a game because it's family oriented they play it because it's a game and it should be fun. I suggested in my own thread on improving the repetitiveness of their quests.

Disney has to see that this game needs to also be for adults in someways too or a more mature audience and to at least have a server for them. For a child it's fine in fact even the repetitiveness it's great for a child helps them learn. But for someone like me it's not enough. I hope they listen to this thread dude I really do!

if an adult server is created tho, kids will change their age to get in (i think)

also its more likely that adults will PAY for the game, kids on teh other hand hvae to use their parents (in most cases) to pay so there are prolly more unlmited adult gamers tha kids

HOWEVER, I'd like to be able to have a conversation in the game, with an ADULT, about the freakin' game WITHOUT having to find some way of circumventing the capricious, and highly uneven chat filters. Literally, there are times I can NOT say something, five minutes later I can, five minutes after that, I can't again.

And this is in private chat to another adult player.

Seriously. Woodruff's Tortugan Freebooters!

Literally, you can't express levels in the game. Or how many points you have left to a level.

You can't say "cell" even though you've got jails.

Heck, you can't even help people having problems with their computer sometimes! One of my guild officers was having lockups all the time on her system. Turned out to be a Vista machine with only 512MB of RAM on it.

Couldn't ask her to reboot. Couldn't say "Windows".

And, as has been noted before. This lovely chat filter prevents guilds from telling each other about their guild website/forums. In order to get my officer the URL for ours, I had to go through fairly amazing contortions, since after a while you couldn't say DOT.

Anyhoo, she's fixed now, recommended a 2GB RAM upgrade and that cleaned her problems up (Vista+Insufficient RAM+Memory Leaks Out The Ying Yang=bad Pirates Experience) and she claims that her machine is like a different beast now.

I'm not saying that Disney needs to drop and spread for the pervs or anything to improve the game. Just recognize that there are a significant number of adult players and conversations more sophisticated than "Gonna smoosh a skeleton" are going to happen.
I agree. Perhaps just lowering the Disney guard a bit might help - I'm sure we know the supposed consequences of letting out our names and e-mail addresses on the internet, after all, we are (or at least some of us are) mature people.

The only way I found a way around all this is to intentionally misspell words. For instance "Windows" ? I type in Winndows or however you want to do it. I just put in an extra letter and do it that way. Of course I let the peeps know that I am misspelling on purpose so they dont think I am an idiot. LOL! We all do this in our guild. Some peeps put one letter in at a time but I dont have the patience for that.

only time i feel like swearing in the game is when some person comes along and starts yelling at me or something

an example of these people is when i was trying to film the 4th fireworks he kept running infront of me i said VERY nicely could u please stop i am trying to get a film of the fireworks, he says nothing, then he starts running into me and standing right behind me (which would make is head take up my screen) at that point that guy i wanted to sweat his but down for being abnoxious anyway i think he got bored and left before the fireworks started and if he did it during the firework disney would have to make a new ban just for me bc it was my only chance all week to tape the firworks and if that guy messed it i may be banned for 999999 years but at least id have my video

Unhappy Blasted being an adult

I can FULLY back u up. I am sick and tired from thinking when i chat (in whatever mode):
"is this word, phrase or hint gonna suspend me" ?

I find it FULLY agreeable that disney do ev'thing they can to protect children, since abusers will do
what they can to find the playgrounds for kids. Said that, it on the other hand does NOT look like
we as adults have any rights ... having an adult server and where kids won't pester us.

* I have had one warning (me language) for being furious because a player did whatever he could
to sink me 'n crew having the most loveable numbers of royals in our cargo hold. I wrote disney
and suggested that we could plank crew'ers that provoked.
(I have since the new test server informations were released, found out that they grant me SIX wishes,
so i surely hope this is ONE of them !) ... that means i can simply kick a player off ship - either planked
or i can auto teleport them to port of call - without any infuriated conduct.

* I have now had three suspensions in one month: Fair and reasonable since i obviously violated
the rules - last one yesterday and still missing a reason.

But what I to some extend can't accept - is the fact that we don't have an adult server where
we can exchange -e-m-a-i-l- .d.r.e.s.s.e.s. (encrypted like in the game - but they snoop it up
since i without any doubt had my chat monitored by a staff member at least twice).

After all it's a social game where u not only play against other humans, but certainly interact
with them and twice now i have met soulmates. Of course we want to friend each other and
talk outside game, but we have NO way to exchange information.

Honestly .. the suspensions is me own fault: first suspension was 72 hours because of
e-mail handed over to another player (adult, mature and grown up etc...)

Second i must admit i used explicit hinted words related to grown up activities:
Suspension one
week ago, but only 24 hours since i am doing it elegantly.

Now one week after, suspension again 24 hours. NO direct words, NO explicit use of foul words,
etc ... but i did encrypt an e-mail address. NO way they could have sniffed
up that thru technical or software related word monitors. They simply have watched a
private conversation in whisper mode.

I feel abused and more than Big Brother'd ... like they to any extend want to control my behaviour.

>

So conclusion and some questions:

Yes an adult server IS needed. After all we the adults prob. pay for most of the unlimited accounts.
I am NOT talking exchanging explicit words or bahaviours
... i am simply talking about a way to make outside friendships.

Questions:

* How many times can an account be suspended before it possibly gets perma terminated ?

* If i want player friends to be outside friends ... will a hint about this site (where i can be
freely e-mailed) suspend me ?

* Is it considered personal info if i either in non-encrypted text write the URL to this site
(or do so encrypted and hope they don't monitor or watch conversation) ... in other words:
Any hints about this site - can it suspend me ?

* If so, anybody have a hint of how to inform player friends that they can find me here ?
... Like: I intentionally mention issue of lack of adult server, and write to an ingame friend:
"Well i have posted my thoughts about the issue on a forum where many players meet.
It's like some sort of a pirates online forum, where we discuss many issues, exchange ideas
and interact".

Could this phrase: pirates online forum - suspend me ?

I am too old to take this giant crab (on purpose typo - i don't want to be suspended
in here also LOL)

>

Help wanted and needed, otherwise i might simply leave the game , but the game has
great potential

Thx mateys and may weight o' ye gold pile in cargo hold be greater than the floating abilites o' ye ship ... if sum can sort this out.

Capt, I have never had a problem with saying piratesonlineforums or pirates on line forums in game. Perhaps the big D likes the site

As for a perma-ban from Disney, I think the magic number is seven, but it also depends on the severity of rule breaking. I imagine they could drop you after just one if you were "naughty" enough. In thier eyes, we are all 13.

Let's keep hoping for a grown up playground.
