Post Weird Observations in game!

Ya know out of the Blue it dawned on me that you cannot Buy Eye Patches!!?
Or Peg Legs, or Hooks etc...

I mean Come on!! Atleast add Eye Patches and Peg Legs -- our pirates already run so slow it seems they have 2 of em attached LOL

I mean I know the reason you cant buy a Hook is because the Animations of using swords, guns, staff, etc... all use a Hand Model
But it wouldnt take much to modify the current hand model, save it for a hook model and use that!

I think it be cool to have Eye Patches, and Peg Legs - you can buy em from a Doctor or Gypsy

Also where are our Pets!!! - I should be able to buy a Monkey from the Gypsy or even a Parrot!!

Just some things ive noticed in game that are not well.... in game lol

What do you guys think??

Their side of view...

The data program isnt that easy, as much as i wish it was.
To add updates in games like this, they have specail data parts, Areas. When you put an under shirt on, it covers your hole top body. Only the parts where you see your skin are clear.
same with legs, feet, hats, hair, you know. To add parrots they would have to add one on the shoulder. To add eye patches they would have to REDO THE HEADS which could take a month or two- to be done in beta testing- then another month to test out the glitches. And for peg legs they would have to rearrange the legs, so i could see wat you mean, but its not as easy as you think, and its ten times HARDER then wat im just saying.

Noones questioning this. We are just trying to give them ideas, discussing them.

Each GM I spoke with last week was VERY interested in the pets idea for example. They did not shudder in fear of workload when the subject came up, instead they said "OFx what kind of pets would you like to see?" Its all about ideas, the more ideas thrown together the better refined the outcome.

We know theres hard work involved, such is the way of all things worthwhile usually.

I doubt that POTcC will ever do Eye Patches or Peg legs Peg legs and eye patches seem like Childrens Pirates.... Real Pirates had beards and hats not many eye patches.

Yet all thier pirate movies had them in it... somewhere.

Actually, there were probably more than you think. Sailors aboard war ships would lose an eye to flying splinters.. and all sorts of mayhem aboard a battle ship. Medicine being what it was.. clean it up/patch it up.. all they could do (and you were lucky if they did that right).

I deleted my post i just did because - of what zepper just said

he pointed out some facts about pirates indeed loosing eyes, hands, arms, legs, etc.

Any pirate who lost a body part or the use of a body part was actually paid for the loss as well - depending on what they lost they got gold or slaves their choice or capts choice to replace the lost part -

how much gold and how many slaves depended on the captain of the ship you sailed with and what part you lost

also they sure did use things to replace parts as well
if the pirate lived through loosing a leg - and had the ability to do so - they had a mock up leg created ( A.K.A. Peg Legs)
same with eye patches to cover the soft scar tissue covering the eye sockets
wooden hands styled to hold items or the like to give some usability back etc.

ODDLY enough - it is said that the one thing pirates usually didnt have was pets lol

pets are another mouth to feed on ship, pets would get in the way when raiding or battling on ships, and in times of struggle where the ship was low on food and water - guess what the bilge rats became last resource - if they had pets at all on ship LOL they were eaten too

but if your following the movie -- then sure pets , no eye patches, no peg legs, etc..

----
Also to Kora

I have panda3d on my PC and know how it handles models and such -
I agree its not an easy job to create new models and code However - there are ways they can do it without much trouble since they already have 90% of what is needed for these mods in place -- current models and code
