Attuning the doll
Out of curiosity, is there a point in this game where you can attune the doll without being on top of an enemy or friend? I'd love to stand further back and use the thing, but seems I have to be closer than normal weapon useage requires. Since I sometimes am *ahem* slow getting my girl to face the right direction, I take several hits before I finally have everything lined up correctly.
Thanks! |

Unfortunately no, undead witchdoctors, gypsies, brinescum, mollusks, etc can attune from range, but we cannot, and it does not at any point give you a skill to do so. You can however attune and run!

I've noticed that people who move using WASD (or QWEASD) are able to attune by clicking targets with the mouse, about five times farther away than I can, when I use Ctrl.
Apparently, when you click a target with the mouse to attune it, you don't even have to be facing them. But if you use keyboard, you have to point EXACTLY at them, while perfectly adjacent. There seems to be a way to use a game controller instead of a keyboard/mouse. But the people that seem to use it, never take the time to switch to keyboard, to explain how they are doing it. ------------- Regarding distance: attune a friend. See their circle? You have that same circle around your pirate. When they get THAT close to an enemy's circle (when the circles touch) is when the servers think they are close enough to attune. The servers don't track your pirate, they track your pirate's CIRCLE. To the servers, your pirate looks like a circle on a (mostly) two-dimensional map. When you are sailing, your boat simply looks like one circle for each mast. |

You are right Edward, using the mouse does allow you a little more leeway with attuning targets. You don't have to be perfectly lined up, but you still need to be darn close.

I know why those voodoo skeletons can attune from a range...They want the game more difficult, so u cant attune them and just run when they cant attack you.
